I disagree, watch the begining of Spider-man, Norman is not a loon until the goblin serum messes with his brain causing insanity. He did love his son, you could tell when they were in the car at the begining of the first one.
Second, he was not talkin gto Norman in Spider-man 2. That is really just Harry's guilt, subconsious that is feeding his anger that he failed his father and was not good in his eyes. The Norman we saw in Spidey 2 is not Norman himself but just a conjuring of the mind by Harry. To me it would be cool to have peace with that, because that IS one of Harry's biggest struggles. We can't deny that.
