The Dark Knight The Joker as a result of Scarecrow's Fear Gas?

well it was confirmed by nolan that the joker isnt geting an origin hence the rise of the joker

so in other words we know who the joker is blah blha so why spoil it already.
they just tweaked his makeup and look.

also if you remeber at the end of begins gordon said to batman " he has a taste for theatrics like you. he left a calling card."

now to me id take that as they already know of the joker and hes been seen.

surely everyone knows fo the joker and theres no need to give every villan a back story . scarecrow didnt have or need one really. and it was his first screening

Interesting idea, but no. The Joker is insane because he's the Joker. Allude to a tragic past that caused him to snap but don't blame his insanity on something so common as fear gas. Don't even say it *worsened* his condition, it's still giving too much wrong emphasis. And if it were true there'd be multiple Jokers created in the Narrows.

Better idea is....the Joker was the only Asylum inmate unaffected by the gas during the riots. That's how he escaped the police crackdown in the Narrows, and how he also knows that Batman isn't a demon. He's has no fear.

good post dude

yeah, you want to almost make the Joker and the fear gas kind of like allies . . . maybe the fear gas made Joker more Joker-y, but more importantly, it puts others out of commission and allow him to operate more Joker-y, one way or another . . .

Heh.... That gives me an idea: Attacked by fear toxin, Joker see everything scary/f---ed up, and finds it funny. :word:

I find at the very least interesting that this theory is mentioned in page 4 of the Gotham Times...

http://www.thegothamtimes.com/page4.htm

The bottom article... "The sudden eruption of clown sightings has fueled speculation of some unknown side effect of the Fear Toxin"....

And if it were true there'd be multiple Jokers created in the Narrows.

There are multiple Jokers, though, according to the news article and the viral marketing. I don't think the gas itself did it, but it made them crazy. Joker just forged their craziness.

actually the story that caught my attention was at the bottom of page 1 and the continuation on the other page, the story of LUCY, and his husband, how he was changed and affected by the gas, and he had this violent temper, or something, and had this psychotic look on his face. and was sent to arkham...

to me the description fits mr. j ,,
u guys should read it and give your thoughts on it :)

Dear lord, that would be so cheap if Joker was nuts because of the fear gas. That would mean Scarecrow a B+ villian would be responsible for the creation of the A+ villian. Ugh...

Scarecrow helps Joker somehow with the production of his specific toxin, and then the Joker turns the tables and takes out Scarecrow.

That's how I would like to see it at least :)

Nolan is not ditching the idea. If you read the Gotham Times then you will see that the Fear Gas incident from the end of Batman Begins is still a massive problem for the people of Gotham, and many people are still terrified of what the lasting effects of the gas may be.

Just curious as to whether or not we will see Joker in a fear gas form or not, if it was confirmed or not?(I posted this in another thread but didn't get a lot of replies.) And if there are any spoilers so say how he looks etc. what is the spoiler behind it? and so on.

Thanks
I.Bulk

No confirmation I think, but here's to hope!

yup hope but not confirmed :] and FYI I don't think they mods like cross posting?

I was hoping that the Joker would modify the scarecrow fear gas to make it joker laughing gas. c'mon you have a have a trademark smiling corpse shot.

yeh but not to the extent of the smiling corpses in B'89, this that's a bit over the top for Nolan's vision

People could laugh themselves to death though, in a more realistic fashion.

yeah laughing your self to death has happened before (suffocation) so yeah that would be quite cool

With the amount of people hyping about this alleged scene, it'd be a darn shame if it was just a false rumour.

It's just wishful thinking mucca :)

It's a damn fine idea though :D

The Man Who Laughs.
Warehouse.
Full of failed "experiments".
Use that scene.

seeing as the joker himself has a carved /scarred smile in TDK, we could very well be seeing that routine in his methods.

I'd love to see what Joker looks like to someone under the influence of Fear Gas, Scarecrow perhaphs.

Coming in the wake of Begins' "gas attack" I think they might stay away from anything similar in this follow-up. Can't have all the Bat-villains making their way in this world by just passing gas.

This post got me into thinking...

In the traditional sense of a 'Glasgow Smile' or 'Chesea Grin' after the cheeks have been slashed, the attacker would be known to inflict futher pain in order to cause the victim to scream, hence inflicting a larger more painful grin :hoboj:

Read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelsea_smile

Would this not be a fantastic use for the fear-gas. Joker cuts the mouth/cheeks, spray of fear-gas to cause the victim to scream in fear. And volia - A freashy cut, terrified victim of the joker.

Mind you this is sounding a bit gruesome. Not typical 12A material.
