The Dark Knight The Joker as a result of Scarecrow's Fear Gas?

What I want to see is the joker get sprayed with fear gas, only to have absolutely no effect because the joker fears absolutely nothing. Also, I think it would be great if the joker looked like that gif of the arkham asylum joker that was posted.

I still maintain that some kind of scuffle between Joker and Scarecrow would be great to see! As interesting as it was in the previous batfilms for the villains to team up, I really want to see them go at each other too.

I agree, and this could also be the way that what I said could happen, with scarecrow attempting to gas joker, only to have joker give him a taste of his own medicine.

isn't the whole poisoning the city's water-supply a "homage"-sequel-thing to what they say at the end of Year One?

yes. the joker's first attack on gotham has often been poisoning the water supply...

I just think that it adds a new dynamic to the film to have everyone out for themselves. I appreciate what was done in previous batfilms, but I want it to be a little bit more than "Good versus Evil." I want everyone fighting with everyone. I want true chaos! :yay:

I really hope we see fear gas Joker. And I want the T shirt.:woot:

Hey didn't some guy say that he read the script and confirmed that there is a scene with Joker in fear gas form. It would be very cool to see. He must look terrifying! I hope the guy wasn't lying! I hate when people lie about movies. :cmad:

I couldnt imagine what joker would look and sound like under fear gas. But it would surely look sick! :hoboj:

I know this would piss off some scarecrow fans, but I think scarecrow should go to the joker and give this long speech about how they should join up to kill batman and how their alike and joker should just shoot him point blank, not even talk to him.

In general, I always have gone with what the comics mythology has shown.

The whole Red Hood story where he falls into the chemicals.

If you really wanted to follow the way the mythology was shown, you would not give him an origin, because he never had one. Never.

That chemical bath thing? That was done in The Man Who Laughs, a one shot, self contained spin off novel from Moore. People just started to assumed that because everyone likes Moors and Burton then liked it so much that he put it in Batman '89 and stuck.

I think TDK is doing it very main comic way, just like the first couple of issues: He just shows up to cause havoc. That is all. No origin. No name. No alias.

My theories are based on everything I've read from insider scoops to Nolan interviews, etc. These are just educated theories though, not facts.

1. The Scarecrow will be taken down by the Batman early on in the film, as a way to wrap up "Batman Begins" and to show that Batman is kicking butt and taking names in the city.

2. I have a feeling Scarecrow and Joker will NOT meet.

3. The Joker's insanity will NOT be a result of the fear toxin spread around the city.

4. The Scarecrow will NOT die. He will just be captured.

The way I understand, it´s a big production flaw that actually happened to all the dvds released worldwide and actually all the film-prints too that were shown in theatres, BubbaGump is in posession of the only copy with that scene that was recorded during the very first screening of the movie, attended only by Nolan and himself. Also, something strange happened to the credits, ereasing Ledger´s name from the cast.

Great. The sarcasm dripped all over my new keyboard.

I don't buy into the fear-gas-as-origin thing, but I can allow that it might be interesting to see how Joker behaves under the influence of fear gas, or how he looks to someone on fear gas (like the cartoon?), or getting his gang (at least the ones he hasn't killed yet) hooked on fear gas, or something like that.

Brushing my teeth yesterday I realized that the Joker getting gassed by Scarecrow/ no effect/ Joker laughs in Scarecrows face and looks ****ed up in Scarecrow's eyes is never going to happen. It isn't realizstic. Joker has no reason to not be affected by the gas. He is human. He is an insane guy who puts on make-up and kills people, but nonetheless he is not immune to the gas that brought even Batman to his knees. Simply put, if there is a scene where Joker gets gassed by Scarecrow, which I highly doubt there will be, I can guarantee that Nolan, with his realistic attitude, isn't going to have Joker be immune simply for the sake of having a cool "in your face" sequence.

If someone has already stated this then I apologize for repeating it.

Sounds too much like the garbage ass team up in Spiderman3, regardless of Joker shooting him, I highly doubt anything like this will happen.

I'm just hoping that TDK also delivers some Villain vs. Villain confrontations. (And I'm not talking gang vs. mob either) :yay:

The whole thing with the fear gas though, is that it brings out the victim's fears in a terrifying manner. I don't think it would be unrealistic to have the joker unaffected, as it could show that he is so completely insane that he fears nothing at all. It affected batman because the memory of the bats and his parents' death was brought back to him. Bruce Wayne is a normal person, and has fears. I think it would be a great contrast to show the joker with none. However, this won't cause him to become the joker, as it's already been confirmed by Nolan, and I disagree with the argument that it creates him.

just going back to the joker venom thing, i read somewhere he was like a junkie and even spat this 'venom' at people at some point? was this true or just rubbish.. this was around a year ago but i never hear any more about it now..

What do you guys think if Joker was affected by Scarecrow's fear gas in the first movie? It would be great if Nolan didn't just ditch the entire gassing incident, and continued it into the second movie.

And the concept of escalation as a result of the gas would be interesting as well--that Gotham City is what it is because of the escaped inmates from Arkham spreading crime and lunacy everywhere. It would explain why the city would have more costumed freaks than other American urban centers...and why Katie Holmes married Tom Cruise.

EDITED: So you guys can stop picking on me. *weeps in corner*

Seems possible but I think Joker came about through a series of bad things happening one after the other. Other victims of the fear gas just become homicidal, few like Joker get style.
