Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

There is still the need to have certain responsibility when choosing to have a villain as a protagonist. you may not have created them morons, but you certainly don't want to feed them idols and inspiration too.

What do you guys think Joker will do at the Tv Show with Mister De Niro?

And I don't want to be spoiled, just curious to read your guess.

I noticed that when he's dancing, he doesn't wear any make up, just the purple/red suit... But he's got it in his make up room... so he puts it while on tv? During commercials? He transforms live in front of the world? Kill everyone?!

I just love the fact that it can go in so many ways... !

It's the goddamn Joker!!!

I'm guessing it's going to be an homage to TDKR where he kills the host live on air.

I'm also taking their "not adapting the comics" proclamation kind of loosely. It's already covering similar ground to the Killing Joke.

Jesus, Twitter is angry because according to them the "Hero" is a mass murdering incel. No joke, just read a tweet that said that. The movie isn't even out yet and a lot of people are angry at the script and calling it garbage... not because it's bad, but because the main character - who is one of the most infamous villains in fiction - behaves horribly and does terrible things. I seriously can't believe this.

lmfao, i saw that tweet too, some kids really need a new brain lmfao

I wonder what these guy would think about A Clockwork Orange, The Godfather, Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, Taxi Driver, Fight Club, Amadeus, American Psycho etc.

Doubt they know those flms exist tbh

Saw the previous post about the world premiere, but this could be when the next trailer comes out.

It's happening, guys.

“Displaying both raw instinct and consummate technical skill, Joaquin Phoenix is the complete actor, and one of the finest in contemporary cinema. Over three decades, he has brought a piercing truth to each groundbreaking role. TIFF is thrilled to be celebrating an artist of his calibre with this inaugural award. This is such amazing news. the rest of 2019 is going to be damn amazing. I think Joker is gonna end up being the best CBM in years. Finally we are getting another great performance by an amazing actor for my fave Comic Book villain of all time. I'm ready!

Technically we knew that already, didn't we? It's in competition.

Joaquin Phoenix is the best actor working ever since Day Lewis retired. The Master, her, Inherent Vice, Two Lovers, You Were Never Really There, Walk The Line, etc; so many incredible performances. His turn in The Master's probably my favorite performance of the decade so far

Not to focus on the lesser point in your post, but I'll believe the DDL retirement thing if he goes another 5 years without a project. The man is the quintessential actor. I have a really hard time believing that he can just turn off that switch.

Wouldn't put too much thought into those numbers, it's waaaaay too early to tell. A lot of the time they're just guessing
