Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

Just saw it at tiff. Joaquin Phoenix’s joker is... unpredictable.

The movie is a complete refresh of the genre.

Some (few) funny moments ala Todd Phillips, it breaks the tension in such a good way.

And that ending, it stays with you, think it’s gonna cause great debates.
Who in your opinion is more frightening Phoenix or Ledger?

You're lying.

It's a ticking time bomb which threatens to pull our society apart by the seams!!!
I mean it ain’t full of massacre, the size is small in scale but has great impact because of it.

That is what I intended to say by realistic way.

Haha mate, I was just making fun of the critics giving this negative reviews :P

On the bright side, at least there hasn't been someone stupid enough to call Phoenix's Joker performance bad.

Yet.

I mean, Joaquin Phoenix’s joker is the most scary only because you can’t have real connection with him, he ain’t seems to be there at all. He doesn’t overact craziness, he’s just weird, awkward and in a complete other world, which I think is disturbing. Plus Arthur Fleck is a believable person, and that is kind of haunting.

I'm actually waiting for them to get torn apart on social media for it.

Is that the one with the critic who was already talking crap about the movie before release? I haven't read that one.

"Phoenix is acting so hard you can feel the desperation throbbing in his veins. He leaves you wanting to start him a GoFundMe, so he won’t have to pour so much sweat into his job again. But the aggressive terribleness of his performance isn’t completely his fault. (He has often been, and generally remains, a superb actor. Just not here.)"

My bad, didn’t get it at all.

White man angry and with a gun, that is the only argument they have to break this movie and it won’t work.

It’s beyond that in term of structure and themes.

I hope The Joker doesn’t smack his lips too much:hehe:
Oh c'mon. The purring is a classic Joker trait, not to mention the slow and loud wheeze that barely resembles a laugh. That's Mr. J right there. :o

"Even when I laughed, I hated myself for doing so. There’s nothing funny about mental illness. There’s just no fun in this film. Maybe a few of Murray Franklin’s jokes but that’s the extent of it."

Danielle Solzman,

Heaven forbid we have movie-going experiences that are not just about entertaining the viewers but tackling serious mental and social issues. How am I supposed to have any fun with that?! :o

There needs to be a "Parents: This is not an anti-hero/villain movie like Deadpool or Venom, please don't bring your kids" PSA or something man. Because I already know when I go see this there are gonna be families with kids in tow who are gonna get antsy as **** and probably freaked out by the goings onscreen. Like IT Chapter 2, there was a **** ton of kids at all my showings.

Next Joker should be a combination of all the previous live action Jokers. He's got a mustache, perma smile, smacks his lips, purrs, balding, and John Wayne Gacy makeup.
