Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

That first pic is pure Joker. Perfection.

Isn't that the dude from Mad TV?

Still thinking in the back of my head that this movie is going to leave it at this could be one of many possible origins for the Joker leaving the door open for him to appear in Matt Reeves' Batman in the future. Would make sense since this is the Joker after all.

I like the set design.

Maybe it's worth checking the film first to see if it's worthy of continuation of any sort. Cart before the horse. We already have one disaster.

I hear a "chemical accident" could definitely be in the cards. Don't rule it out.
This movie looks very inspired by TKJ already, I would not be surprised.

This is easily my most anticipated DC movie. Can’t say I’m nearly as hyped for Shazam, Aquaman, Wonder Woman 1984, or Birds of Prey. This is the big one for me. I’m a DC guy for life so I’ll see all those, but this one really has my attention

Yep. Apparently he announced he had a small role on his podcast back in July, or so. According to Callen

"I’m doing the Joker." Callen explained. "I was offered a part. That’ll be fun, but i think it’s only a couple days. Play an aging dancer, stripper. "

This is a great opportunity to reintroduce the DC film-o-verse through this Joker movie. What was DCs high-water mark for film? The Dark Knight triology... so... Joaquin’s portrayal could secretly be a prequel to Batman Begins. If Joaquin’s performance is well received, then he will have earned the place to do post TDK Rises stories with the Joker and “Robin” / new Batman / Night Wing

I would love it

That is all sorts of amazing.

Is Thomas Wayne gonna be alive in this or just in flashbacks? Wtv...Batman or no Batman, it’s still an elseworlds tale and I hope they deliver a fantastic movie.

it will be fascinating to see how they create the joker with him being a grown man and Thomas Wayne still being alive.

A joker not existing because of a Batman doesn’t sit well with me, but the talent involved is the reason I will go in with an open mind.

Are we sure Thomas Wayne is alive during the events of the film?

Huge bags of no. Sacks of it.

I don't think Phoenix will return as The Joker in a Batman movie anyway. If this does well, they'll beg him, but Phoenix doesn't strike me as a guy who does franchises. The one off nature of this is probably one of the big reasons he was interested.

If they can capture that grit and grime from 70s cinema, then mission accomplished.

It's the fate of all live action Jokers. ONE cinematic appearance per actor.
