I guess Lindelof's Watchmen is the only piece of superhero content left this year that I'm still excited for at this point.

In his follow-up tweet McWeeny said that this movie will appeal to the people who think that Tyler Durden was the hero of Fight Club (I can't post the tweet itself because of cursing).

Have you managed to get a copy of the script? Because at this point I really, really wish I knew more about it.
Also, what a shame if what is likely Joaquin Phoenix's one and only superhero film turns out to be a stinker. Dude's one of the top 3 actors working today.

I have it but didn't finish it and frankly don't intend to (please no one ask me to send a copy I don't do that for internet strangers). I'm not interested in this project and the ensuing incels/Joker fans/nerds/whoever likes this thing for whatever reason vs thinkpieces storm that is coming is gonna be exhausting even from the far

Also the script will definitely be all over the Internet very soon. The backlash may force them to change stuff but given the quality overall it's not like there's hope they will change it for better, maybe for less controversial but that's it

I saw the suppose spoiler (If it's even in the movie) and it's not even worth people having an outrage over. Especially with a character who's a psychopath and does crazy ish for no reason.

I don't know about the spoiler but this doesn't surprise me. People getting their panties in an uproar over nothing (and also not waiting to see the execution).

This was the only other funnybook movie of 2019 I was interested in, if only because of Joaquin, but if even movie bloggers and scooper dudebros don't like it - two of the most easily impressed sub-groups - then that's incredibly concerning.
