Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

I'm sure Leto's Morbious project is better than this

I know it's unwarranted but I do wonder what's in his mind seeing all the praise the trailer is getting and his Joker being what it was whatever that was

I can see someone selling those Joker masks as merch for the movie.

Did anyone sell those TDK Joker henchmen masks at that time ?

Sadly they only did a ****ty flappy Halloween mask of the one Ledger wore.

I made a sculpture in art school, at the time of that one as well.

"With a character this known and a film that doesn’t seem to fit any mold of what’s come before, some wildly inaccurate information has circulated around the internet. For one, Scorsese was never set to produce. The two had emailed about the script privately, but Scorsese was always going to be tied up with post-production on “The Irishman” right when “Joker” was shooting. Also, Phillips didn’t call the programming director of the Venice International Film Festival and ask for “Joker” to be in competition — they were simply invited and accepted. And that leaked script going around? If it’s what Phillips thinks it is — a draft from April 2018 — he said, “They’re in for a big surprise when they see the movie.” The script changed quite a bit between that version and when they began shooting last September."
Fall Movie Preview: 'Joker' gets a prestige makeover

Man, Barbera must had really loved the movie to accept it on competition. Also Bailey. Both of them praised it.

I'm 90% sure this will be the best comic book movie since The Dark Knight, and 100% it will be the best of this year.

Glad to see the leaked script was an early draft, which I know we've heard before, but it'll be great going in and seeing how much they've changed things.

I find it amusing lost in the montage of action towards the end, people aren’t noticing Joker stomping someone out to death in an alley way lmaooo. Nice job from WB to stick the smallest bit of extreme violence into the trailer. I hope people are aware ahead of time this is a hard R

I think people are gonna be very surprised at how violent this film is haha. Well, maybe. But its gonna be oh so good

I thought he was stomping on trash--perhaps earlier signs in the movie of how he has built up anger. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a clever editing trick.

I do too aswell but it's his fault for not objecting to that direction I mean he should have stepped in and say about this damaged tattoo JUST NO

I'm well aware the tattoos was the least of the problems

I love that Marc Maron still don't give a f**k about comicbook fans.

Fans have such a complex when it comes to how comic books are regarded. Frankly, I have no qualms with people thinking my interests are childish.

Random note but ;

In retrospect, I'm actually SO glad we didn't get Alec Baldwin as Thomas Wayne in this movie.

Like, SUPER ****ing glad.

I actually did notice that right away and wondered what it's about. It could be like that American Psycho scene with the hobo and truly showing how vile this ****er is, or it could be just him frustrated and stomping on trash or some ****. Can't wait to see

Absolutely. These are first and foremost characters originally created for children. People do tend to want to forget that.

“It was a yearlong process from when we finished the script just to get the new people on board with this vision, because I pitched it to an entirely different team than made it,” said Phillips. “There were emails about: ‘You realize we sell Joker pajamas at Target.’ There were a zillion hurdles, and you just sort of had to navigate those one at a time…. At the time, I would curse them in my head every day. But then I have to put it in perspective and go, ‘they’re pretty bold that they did this.’ ”

“I’ve been offered a few over the years and my thing was always: I don’t watch those movies,” added Phillips. “It’s not because I don’t think it’s cool. It’s just like, quite frankly, they’re always so loud…It was just never something I imagined doing.”

“It really came from this idea: What if you just did a comic-book movie differently?” continued Phillips. “We all grew up on these character studies, and they’re few and far between nowadays. So it was like, ‘Let’s do a deep dive on one of these guys in a real way.’ No one is going to fly in it. No buildings are going to collapse. It’s just going to be on the ground, so to speak.”

Todd Phillips Explains How He Sold Warner Bros. on a R-Rated Joker

So embody should have pointed out he’s literally in a grown up show on Netflix full of people wearing tights.

Sure on the surface... but it's a much more deeper show than that. And it's also critically well received.
