Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

I just found out that the highly divisive Last Jedi has a whopping 95% fresh rating with top critics. Interesting...
And Dave Chappelle's new special has a 0% on RT with a 3/10 average, and Hanna Gadsby's is 100% with a 9.12/10.

Maybe RT's score isn't really indicative with the quality of the product. Watch the movie and judge for yourself.

If I see somebody pull up in a clown mask, I'm bolting the heck out of that theater. You can never be too sure, nowadays.

Yeah, I’m aware just an observation that I found interesting.

ANd thats why I go to a small theater for movies like this

the wackobs never go there

Captain Marvel didn't overtake Aquaman worldwide, only domestically
Yeah, in terms of worldwide collections, Aquaman ($1,148 mil) is ahead of Captain Marvel ($1,128 mil) and Spider-Man Far from Home ( $1,122 mil.)

I do hope there isn’t any incidents like in the case of Dark Knight Rises when the Aurora shooting happened. I know the reviews have pointed out that this movie could be viewed as a rallying cry to any potential crazy mass shooters, and there’s nothing worse for a movie have be linked to a tragedy, and that becomes part of its legacy. Does anyone remember what happened with Taxi Driver when John Hinckley Jr. became so obsessed with the film that he attempted an assasination on then-President Ronald Reagan? The discourse about this film has already gotten pretty heated and I don’t want some fringe lunatic to make it much worse, and vindicate those concerns.

To be fair, both TLJ and Hanna Gadsby's special are awesome, so I wouldn't discount RT so quickly.

Looking forward to hearing the score. She was a collaborator to the late Jóhann Jóhannsson.

Whether you agree with the story choices or not, at its heart TLJ is a good film which is why critics love it. Personally, I really like TLJ, but I prefer The Force Awakens. I appreciate how complex TLJ is with its underlying themes.

Didn't realize Hildur Gudnadottir worked on Chernobyl, that score was pretty good.

I do like the comments about this being a game-changer or watershed movie. Media such as this should be tackling the topics that are apparently on show here. People see CBMs making billions at the box office, this form of entertainment should be used as a platform for topics such as mental health, societal apathy etc.

This way people can see fictionalised examples or case-studies to explore these issues and the impact they have on people, rather than simply having 2D caricatures mocked or ridiculed onscreen.

I know the question has been asked before and I know the possibility is very slim, but what do you guys think the odds are WB tries to get Phoenix to return for a sequel or possibly a sequel to Reeves Batman?

Phoenix has become great friends with Phillips and seems to have loved doing the character. I think the chances of him returning to do something with Reeves are zero, but there is a chance of him doing something with Phillips. Maybe a sequel, if Phillips convinces him. But I don't see him being part of any cinematic universe. Only one that can convince him to return right now is Phillips.

Considering DC, imo, has the best and most complex stories/characters in comic industry, I'm so excited to see what's next.

Generally, I agree. At the same time, i feel like WB may try to approach him about a batman film but I too have my doubts about that ever happening
