Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

Forget it. Pointless post made on a pointless site.

Why do people even want this to be good? You won’t get the money it gets nor the non-existent awards it may or may not hypothetically receive. The sheer love for a movie you haven’t even seen yet borders on fanaticism.
Same reason why sports fans cheer for their home team, they don't get any money or trophies there either and same reason why comic book fans cheer for their MCU movies.

People are emotionally invested in the characters who have been around for couple of decades, they don't want to see a bad quality movie featuring the iconic character. Other reason is involvement of Joaquin Phoenix himself, who's regarded as great actor by many.

Goodie....the old fanaticism digs.

It's perfectly reasonable to get excited about a film featuring a character many grew up watching and reading about, and that looks like it's going to appeal to one's personal tastes.

There will always be a vocal minority on social media that take things too far but they are not representative of the whole. Certainly no one here anyway has crossed a line.

You write this on a board called SuperheroHype? Have you ever been in any of the other forums?

And wanting something to succeed you like, means more of said thing you like. If Iron Man had tanked in 2008, there would be no MCU. Not that hard to understand.

I swear to god, every post on here from you is laughably bad. So far you haven't added anything interesting nor constructive in nature to this thread. People on here are not excited for this movie because they worship/fetishize Joker. They're excited because it's an Elseworlds character study of one of the greatest comic book villains of all time, nothing else to it. And wanting it to succeed means we would like more DC movies in the veins of it.

Get your head out of the gutter and let people enjoy what they like. Oh wait, you can't, because in order to do that, you'd have to stop justifying your enormous hate b**** for this movie and not condescendingly insult others who disagree with you.

I think going forward, we should just ignore comments made by individuals who are just looking to derail the discussions and praise. Let's focus on what's important within this thread and keep it going.

I dunno why, but I like this pic..

So impressed by the posters we've been getting from the marketing team.

You never get excited for a film before it comes out? Whats the point of coming to a site like this then?

I also like how discreet DC/WB have been about not plastering the DC logo all over the place. It only appears at the end of the trailers and is barely visible on the posters. They really are trying to sell this as a film, and not a superhero/comic book film.

Man, that store really, really wants you to know that it's air conditioned, on a day when it's apparently cold enough that everyone is wearing a jacket. Maybe Arthur should be holding a sign that says "EVERYTHING IS AIR CONDITIONED, WE REALLY MEAN IT!!"

The French premiere is tonight and tickets have now become available

The premiere is tonight in France and yet, the tickets are still unavailable.
Anyway, Joker has the best posters I've seen for a CBM in years.

Any reactions from the French premiere? It's past 1AM in France... :sly:

I've seen some reactions, I'll wait for more later but in the meantime heres Phoenix being confused at the screening Q/A lol

And here's a snippet of a interview of Phoenix explaining his original choice to portray the Joker as overweight.

I've read some French tweets. Very positive so far.
