Is this a american thing. Ive never experienced it here in the UK and i usually go to the weekend showings. Not even the most hyped (Dark knight, Endgame) got a applause. The audience just casually make there way out of the cinema lool
Well, guess I was wrong.![]()
Having seen the film, I can see why people would walk out of it not having enjoyed it.
But no one can say credibly this film is not almost impeccably made. That’s what’s bothering me. There’s an inherent bias in about 50% of the negative reviews because their writers are not mature enough to deal with what the film presents.
I did not enjoy watching the film at all. I may see it again but will watch it sparingly. I nevertheless give it a 4-5/5. It was powerful filmmaking that has made me feel how I feel - disgusted, upset and frankly a little more dubious about people in the world.
I remember seeing a movie where people did actually clap at the end, but for the life of me I cannot recall the movie itself.

I don't disagree about Jordan. But you're being dismissive of a very real issue as a means to make your point.
US critics just seem like a bunch of overly sensitive fuddy duddys after this. How can they be taken seriously when 90% of them recognise it's a well crafted film, but are marking it down due to their own bias and sensibilities?
Give us one example of a black actor or actress being robbed at the Oscar's in the last 30 years. Just one.
Ok if I were a RT critic, I’d be stuck...
It’s honestly a fantastic piece of powerful, impactful, revolutionary, timely artwork. Would I recommend it to anyone? I don’t know. I hated it and loved it at the same time...
Same here in Finland. The first Avengers is the only that got some applause (even during the movie, the Hulk-Loki scene)of the films I've seen. But generally the thinking is like, who are the applause directed to? The makers of the movie who are obviously not present or the projector operator, who's these days just pushing a button? Though I do watch some audience reaction videos on Youtube, I would not want to watch a movie in a American movie theater with an American audience. I'd miss out on so much dialogue.
