The Last Defenders

I don't think Ben Grimm is mobile enough to "wrestle" lol. I'd just like Pete to hang around Herc for a while and learn how to do a full nelson or "lock-up". He's obviously not gonna get the respect he deserves by punching people in the mouth, so let's have him start choking people out

Ben Grimm shouldn't be mobile enough to be a competant boxer, but he is. Colossus isn't supposed to be "slow" after all. I think the 2005 handbook claimed his metal form somehow enhanced his speed, while others simply claimed his density did not hinder his dexterity. Logan kept claiming "Piotr's faster than he looks" a few times during the 70's (especially when they used to play softball as a team).

I'm just concerned about fulfilling a stereotype. Those rarely help a character. Next he'll be dancing with Gorby. :p

Colossus simply needs to make better showing against dangerous opponents, be drawn dynamically and effectively, and have things paced well. Really, these are fairly simple tanker techniques and it is staggering they have been a challenge for him.

No arguments here about that last part

I just think this'd be a great opportunity to set Pete apart from other tanks. How sweet would it be to see him bearhug a villain into submission? :D ...then he can drink vodka

Naturally. :D

Well, I won't say that under no circumstances that it COULDN'T work. Reed & Weeks showed that execution is everything with CAPTAIN MARVEL. I'm just saying that angle risks fulfilling stereotypes and adding more canon fodder to "homoerotic Colossus jokes" that really don't help the character shake off those bad vibes.

Now, say, having Colossus beat the **** out of the U-Foes single handledly or something would work better. Plus, as a personal vibe, I see inserting "wrestling" manuvers as a cheap way of appealing to little kids. Wonder Woman got Mongul with a German Suplex in JLU and I saw it as just pandering. She's trained as an Amazon warrior and she is busting out WWE moves!? But to each their own. Like I said, if Muniz drew it well and Casey paced it well, I could come around.

Wow, I need to see this

Ben used to be a professional wrestler.

It was a joke about him being made of rocks. Rocks aren't really known for there flexibility lol

Rocks aren't known to walk around and and smoke cigars either.

I know, UCW. Considering all the Registration hassles, I am surprised we don't hear from them too often. One would think a slew of wrestlers who wanted to avoid the Initiative would join.

Wow, I need to see this

It was an episode of the first season of JLU (or the 3rd season of JL, however you gauge it) called "FOR THE MAN WHO HAS EVERYTHING". It was an adaptation of the Alan Moore classic, albeit with heavy alterations. At the time, it was considered probably the most violent of JLU episodes, but the crew soon topped it. Eric Roberts reprises his role of Mongul from the sub-par JL episode "WAR WORLD", and proves he was made for the part when given better material. It was available on DVD via one of those early "3-4 episode a pop" JLU DVD's, as well as the season set of JLU. Despite the alterations to the Moore story, some due to time (it was a 22 minute episode) and others due to Timm & Co. personal feelings, or cartoon continuity, it was one of my favorite JLU episodes. Even if WW doing a suplex makes me roll my eyes everytime.

Or on Veoh:

True. Ben also wore those swimming trunks for ages, but at least he graduated to pants more often than Piotr.

But, considering Piotr has made out with a Battleworld healer, Rogue, Callisto, two civilian women who never got serious, lost his virginity in a threesome with two Savage Land native women, had Psylocke model nude for him and Meggan pine for him, and finally was intimate with Kitty Pryde, maybe he thinks the man-gams are lady-bait. :p

Wow. So not gay.

Yeah, seriously. I read his Bio on X-FAN and while I read most of the X-Men stories mentioned, I don't own many of them so I had forgotten some of the details. Colossus was a mack. He wasn't on Logan levels but he could almost have a running game against Gambit, considering Gambit spent much of his time after Rogue. Colossus got around. He did have to be super-oblivious to now know Nareel's kid in the Savage Land was his, though. She doesn't tell him, but it is super-obvious. Maybe "Peter Jr." can play with Logan's Savage Land brat from A JUNGLE ADVENTURE (one-shot where Logan is lured to the Savage Land by a cyborg clone of himself that steals his lighter, runs into a random Jungle woman, and kills a robot of Apocalypse).

Colossus also had a thing with Marrow. And he waited for Callisto to get prettier before swapping spit with her. :p

But, yeah, Piotr's a bit of a playa. It is amazing that so many women went for a guy who wears knee-high red boots, man. Guess it was the steel--

G'night, everybody!

Colossus never had a thing for Marrow, did he? I remember he admired her beauty as an artist, but I don't remember the two ever locking lips or even wanting to.

Good thing, too. Can you imagine the kind of awful noises that would come from super-hard bone on organic steel?

You know you would've gotten around to thinking about it eventually. I just took you down the direct route rather than the scenic one.

They vacationed together in Boston...;)

It comes up as a banner for that website.

Hmm. I don't seem to have a problem hitting the link.

The dialogue tells it enough:

COLOSSUS: "I am really sorry, Rogue."
ROGUE: "Colossus, are you NUTS!? You touched me with your bare hand!"
[she boots him off]
ROGUE: "Nothing happened."
COLOSSUS: "Perhaps we should touch again...to make certain there is no mistake."
[kiss]

Colossus is a stone cold pimp. He never hooked up with Marrow though. They had a brother/sister thing going on.

That's because you have the image in your cache from the actual webpage. The rest of us don't, so it goes to the automatic anti-linking banner thingamajig.

Bah, had it more time, something would have happened. Colossus was a player. He doesn't let things like death stall his game for too long. When his love on Battleworld died, he was broken up, but not too shook up to try for someone else later on. And it wasn't like Zsaji just fell over and died or something, she literally gave her life to revive him.

It is interesting to have that kind of history considering them knee-high's. I mean it doesn't look so bad when he is all metal, but once he reverts to normal form, well, it looks mighty kinky. The European suit is almost worse because it had those elbow-length washer-glovers. It looks like a male version of Warrior Woman, IMO, of course.

Still, I suppose it says something that aside for Cassaday trimming the shoulderpads, no one has been able to improve upon the Cockrum design for long.
