Horror 'The Last of Us' HBO Series

Hopefully it won't adapt any of Part II. Haven't managed to get a PS5 yet to play it.
If there are future seasons, then it's very likely that a certain character from that second game will pop up in this, if not two.

Glad it's been confirmed. Now I just have to get to replaying the first game before then, and ideally I'd like to get my hands on the PS5 remake as long as the price comes down a bit.

Can't believe Mando abandoned Grogu and the way, then just went off with this other kid! :cwink:

So it's 10 episodes long then. I thought that 9 was kind of an odd number when DiscussingFilm reported it.

I'm still curious how much of the game they will cover. You do see snow and that is way into the last section of the game.

This first season is supposed to cover the entirety of the first game. They’ll probably add in certain elements from the second game, like characters and locations, to set up and plant seeds for future seasons.

I’d imagine they’ll probably also expand on a lot of those events in the timeline we see in the Part 2 flashbacks in the next 2-3 seasons, so we get to spend more time with those characters, get to know and understand them. That way, when that thing happens, we will have had time to process and prepare for it and it won’t feel as jarring.

If you're powering through the first game plus the DLC you can finish it in maybe 10-12 hours. By condensing large portions of gameplay into shorter action scenes you could easily fit the whole game into 10 episodes.

Great recreation of the OG game's cover.

My God, I can't wait. The use of "Take on Me" is such a nice touch. For as many familiar elements I'm seeing in the game I'm also looking forward to meeting these brand new characters played by Graham Greene and Murray Bartlett (although technically the latter's character did appear in the game briefly).

I'm off from work December 23rd through January 3rd so I'll be playing through TLOU Part 1 as a refresher during that time before this premieres.

Man, I can already tell that this series is going to slap hard. And was that Ashley Johnson as Ellie’s mom in that short little clip giving birth?

I was wondering why that song in the trailer seemed so familiar, and then it hit me…

It’s the song that Ellie plays on the acoustic guitar to Dinah when they’re in that abandoned shopping center early on in Part II. It’s one of those things in the game you could miss if you aren’t looking for every single little thing and never experience at all.

These deep cuts, man. These people really did their homework, and then some.

The trailers/marketing for this has really been excellent so far IMO. They show just enough without revealing too much and by the end of it just leave you wanting more.

Also, I got major RE vibes from that last shot. Like I said before it's really a shame we can't get this kind of quality more often when it comes to videogame adaptations.

I think you're right, and it looks like Troy Baker is in the trailer too as one of the guys in David's group.
