Regwec, that's sort of a cop-out and I think I'm putting that lightly. I don't think anyone has misinterpreted anything to be honest. Of course you can disagree with people. Your topic was more about how you disagree with people and the tone of one's debate on this forum.

I know you wrote it and I didn't bump it soley for the purpose to imply that you were acting unreasonable. I think it's a good post for everyone to read. Beyond that, no I don't think you're following your own advice--at all. That's not me attacking you, but that's just me being honest. You're an intelligent poster who has often added valuable thoughts to different arguments on this forum; but lately you've been more haughty, elitist, and patronizing than beneficial or insightful. Again, I'm just being honest. I don't really like articulating what I don't like about how people go about their business on this forum, but I felt I had to say it since you seem to be washing your hands of your old post.

That's a good point. That's the nature of forums in general. Time passes, arguments run in circles over and over, ignorant posters crop up with tired arguments and tensions run high. However, that only explains the reasoning for ornery, "seemingly high-horse" posters; it doesn't excuse them.

I've only read the first few responses and it seems some have missed the point of your thread.

It's great to be excited for another Batman film let alone any other character you love that is getting a film this year or in the future. There is a line that keeps getting crossed, where people who don't approve of something get attacked often.

I love the comics as well as 3 out of 5 of the current films that were released. Just because someone or some people don't think certain creative choices in this next installment weren't good or flat out wrong doesn't mean they should be attacked or hated.

Like Regwec said, for those of us that have been into the comics and have that love for what we've read/seen over the years in them it's not always fun to see changes that you don't agree with.

As far as I can tell Regwec isn't telling people to not be happy in anticipation or excitement but to be level headed. Don't jump in anger if someone talks against certain choices being made/done in this new film.

I don't think anyone is confusing the original post at all. It is a good post, it's just that there's no follow-through with the thread's message when it comes to a lot of posters on here.
