So Merlin was officially badass enough and determined enough to get Ra's Al Ghul to release him, and Ra's apparently disapproves of the Undertaking at least in part thanks to its civilian death toll.
Also, Nyssa is clearly a reverse-Talia in this show, rather than a potential Ra's replacement. Loud and sincerely honest, as compared to Talia's now duplicitous and sneaky nature. Even Nyssa's self proclamation as heir to Ra's comes off as a clear contrast to Talia's traditionally humble role as her father's daughter.
And anybody else dig the black cloth ladders they had the Assassins use in this episode? It's a nice stylistic touch.
