Am I the only one willing to give this flick a chance to stand on whatever merits it has/doesn't have?

Actually... am I the only one who's going to even see this movie?

I'll be there:woot:

Gee, what a surprise. It's a pile of garbage.

I wonder if Terminator is gonna come on here and still try to defend this mess.................

I'm still gonna see it for myself, but I'm disappointed to see that it's not likely to be an improvement over the '94 flick or the terrible SF2 anime for that matter.

I wonder if this year's "Tekken" film will be better or worse?

What the? You take that back! Or it's your spine again. :cmad:

There it goes the second chance for Street Fighter.
They really should have used Ryu and Ken instead of Chun-Li and have done a different story.
Amazing how animated SF movies are better than live-action's.

It wouldn't have changed a thing, it would still have been terrible. What this movie needed was a better director and cast.

Great music, couple of good fight scenes. Absolute freaking horrid character, plot and dialogue. I watched it for the first time two years ago, and was astonished at how such a bad piece of crap got such a good rep. It's about equivalent to Van Damme's flick.

That review on the last page does having me wanting to get ****-faced and watch this thing.

They only need someone to pay 60 million for a ticket to make everything ok. Any takers?

>checks back pockets<

Hmmm.......nope - I got nuthin'.

I had 60 million on me this morning as well - always the way, isnt it?

Funny how a movie that looks like made-for-cable would cost 60 million, as the special effects don't look like they justify the cost. Did they overpay Chris Klein or something?

I imagine that shooting on location in Bangkok is expensive.

It would still a bad film with Ryu and Ken as the stars.

They can get away with more visually and they seem to actually respect the property.

Hey, TheVileOne, did you write this comment?

Cause if you did, you beat me to it.

As an aspiring screenwriter, it's not really jealousy that makes me enjoy the damage this could do to Marks' career, but a sense of vindication and justice- people were getting excited about this guy based on two gibbering script reviews by Latino Review's El Mayimbe (who frankly isn't smart enough to be embarassed by his own writing). Then those of us who read the scripts he actually wrote knew the truth.

He-Man's in other hands. Voltron has been quiet even with a director. Super Max seems to be stalled. I can only hope Hack/Slash ends up with someone else, as I love that comic.

Director, cast, actors, writers, designers, crew. It needed everything to be different.

Exactly. You'd think a live-action movie would seem bigger, but it's like they think they can do whatever they want using the franchise's name.

Agreed.
