How does Kristin Kruek manage to get all those roles that are so ethnically wrong for her? It's not white enough for the middle-america ideal of Lana Lang, but she's not asian enough to come off convincingly as Chung Li. But people still keep casting her. I'm waiting for some casting director to cast her in a latina role!

I think most people were just expecting Zhang Ziyi, if anyone, is all. I'm willing to give Kristin a shot, though. This will be her first major role in a Hollywood film. Television isn't the greatest medium to hone your acting skills, either.

She's a hottie, not a bad actress and hell this is dumbsocky not a Dennis Lehane thriller, she'll be fine, movie will probably be nonsense but so what, if she's hot and the action is good i'll take a look.

Definitely. Most people wanted her for any ass kicking and attractive Asian character Chun Li, she was fanboys choice for Chi Chi in DBZ, etc.

Street Fighter will be just a fun popcorn flick and I'm fine with her casting now I'm more interested in who'll be doing the fight choreography

I think martial arts film fans will get a kick out of Kristen Kreuk as Chun Li in the new Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li. I hope she is as fine as Ming-Na was in the Van Damme original.

I was hoping that Aya Ueto would have played Chun Li, with flashbacks featuring Etsuko Shihomi as her mom, and Sonny Chiba as her dad.

I think martial arts film fans will get a kick out of Kristen Kreuk as Chun Li in the new Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li.

Kristin actually does have some martial arts experience, and she was a gymnast for most of her life, at least until she became an actress. Flexibility and stunts shouldn't be a problem for her. I have no doubt she'll do a fine job; I'm just hoping it's a good script and a decent production.

Does anyone know if THIS script summary is still the most current?

KK? Why not someone who can actually do martial arts? Like say, I dunno, Zhang Ziyi?

I know hollywood casts japanese/chinese/vietnamese/etc actors interchangeably, but Kristin Kreuk is very unmistakeably Eurasian. The Asian part of her comes out as strong as her Western ethnicity. Being part Chinese myself, it's hard for me to accept her in the role of a pure, mainland chinese character.

And Zhang Ziyi would have been ideal.
