Discuss news, rumors, and speculation (and casting...?!?! :oldrazz:) for Lockjaw, Marvel's favorite pet. This giant alien bulldog has powerful teleportation powers, and can transport his Inhuman masters to the farthest reaches of the universe.

Behold the new star of Hollywood because when the Inhumans comes out everyone is going to want a lockjaw!

This is actually the role they are reserving for Vin Diesel, not Black Bolt.

Idris Elba, Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Fassbender as Lockjaw. All three of them in one big outfit like those old front half/back half horse costumes.

Does Lockjaw talk? Do they need an actor?

Not in the comics.
But this is Hollywood! EVERYBODY loves talking dogs! :woot: Especially trash-talkin' streetwise ones. Sign Kevin Hart or Chris Tucker up, the guys down at the studio will eat this up

In the MCU, they haven't even had Cosmo talk (just yet).

wrong, he did talk once years ago

It was retconned into being a joke played on whoever he was "talking" to (The Thing? I can't remember...)

Lockjaw reminds me a lot of Woola in John Carter (of Mars). And that part of the movie worked out in a "cute" way.

Yep, it was the Thing. Lockjaw recruited him for help

I hope they don't go with "Lockjaw was a normal 'human' Inhuman whose terrigen experience transformed him into a dog" theory some Marvel writer (John Byrne?) flirted with years ago. Just make him a big lovable superpowered dog. People love dogs.

Yeah that was retconned out of the comics, thankfully. I agree that the movie shouldn't touch it.

Yeah I agree. I hated the whole he used to be an inhuman thing

What do you guys think about going cg or practical with a giant breed like a mastiff for this puppy?

I think it'll be cg. The cg for Rocket, Groot and Hulk is incredible and I think Marvel will go down that road for Lockjaw as well.

Do you think they'll keep him like his comic appearance, or make him more alien in nature (which would fit the vibe of the Inhumans more)?

I just imagine Lockjaw will draw in every possible animal lover on the planet.

Given the size of Lockjaw in the comics, it will be definitely be CGI and given this would be made in the late 2010s or worse the early 2020s, the visual effects would be more advanced by that point that a CGI Lockjaw could really look authentic. I hope they make him look cute because it looks cute in the comics.

Lockjaw's pre-CG stand-in.
