I haven't been in there for a while, but when I was there I saw plenty of reasonable people having conversations. Not everyone of course, but yeah.

I still don't see why people have to be so bad they have any.

All mine were due to carelessness. Getting carried away, inappropriate language, not paying attention and posting something with pirated material in it.

I got an infraction for trolling from Craig one time. Which is ironic considering craig turned into the one of the biggest trolls of the politics section.

That's what happens when you debate civilly. The length of the debates has little to do with it. In my experience, people's general attitude/conduct reveals itself pretty early on in a debate. It just...gets more pronounced as the debate rages on, lol.

All it takes is for one person to call the other stupid and then all hell breaks loose.

I'll have the odd couple of posts in a debate where I might have been a bit too aggressive but then I make sure I'm a bit cooler on the next ones. Also people who are also aggressive usually react better when you offer some kind of olive branch on the hostility side, while continuing to debate the underlying points.

Anyway above all that I'm here to have fun and if that stops for any reason I need to be doing something differently.
