I do customer service for a multi-million dollar independent wholesale prescription lens company. Super chill, Mon-Fri (never weekends), health benefits, 401k, 2 paid weeks a year, I really couldn't ask for more in a job. Super chill work environment too plus it's casual so I can wear all my cool shirts and hats and whatnot

Work hols are really low in the US. I think most people here get 4 or 5 weeks (plus bank holidays).

well i'm gov't, so my leave is different. i get 8 hours of annual leave every 2 weeks and 4-6 hours of sick leave, i forget which. so if something happens and i am too sick to work, i can still get paid, which is nice.

do what most people do, get an entry job (ie: GS 1,2,3 or 4), hold the job for 3-6 months, then apply for something else. once you hold the position for that long, you can apply for anything up to 2 pay grades higher.

example, get a job as a GS -3 and you can apply for anything up to a GS-5 position

It's so jacked up, not only do we have to deal with the blue hairs but even in metro areas none of the damn stop lights are synced up so when rush hour hits it's madness. Def one of the only things I don't like about FL

Because I have to practice my spoken english somehow and I'm in the middle of a monolingual desert. My listening seems to be on point, with all the netflix series and movies in english and all, but my pronunciation and composition? Not strong enough.

I might also skype some of my friends abroad to keep up to date with them, and to have an actual dialogue in english.

It's a real shame language tests are only valid for two years after they are taken.

It's definitely a dividing line I have found when it comes to the Mafia films that are high art with good pedigrees. Marty certainly takes a much more modern approach with GOODFELLAS and it takes place in a time that is more familiar to younger viewers. It's more... energetic for sure. I totally understand why some prefer it over Coppola's two films.
