Barracuda was just ****ing weird on every single level. I love the start and end of the series with him on the top of the Empire State building.

That's the only image I could find without some form of gratituous violence or swearing :funny:

Funnily enough I was just telling my buddy Ed that I thought that the Punisher can be divided into two categories: Before Ennis and After Ennis. I was a big fan of Castle in the early days, mostly because I suppose it was just different than your average issue of Batman or Spidey. I always viewed it as though being crazed/crazy was sort of Frank's super power. I enjoyed this character as a remorseless killer with a supremely, even cruel moral compass. But... Suddenly the pages of comics were filled with characters like that to one degree or another. The bloom came off the rose and later Punisher stories lacked something, not to mention the general quality dipped... Then Ennis re-invigorated the character and gave the template for what the stories for Frank should be like in the 21st Century. Now... I actually haven't read much of Garth's Frank stories but I know the influence he has had, I mean, it's apparent. I have to get around to reading more of his work with the character for sure one of these days.

Definitely. The guy is Denny O'Neil for Punisher, and really went the extra mile to make the core idea more relevant in the post-90s/Anti-Hero climate. After reading 30 issues of Wolverine stabbing every foe he meets, it can get very trivial seeing the Punisher do his thing, but Garth really took things to another level. The Slavers story arc is one of the most harrowing things I've ever read, showed some real disgusting lack of humanity and the way it was done to show Frank's cruelty inflicting upon these horrible people...well its cathartic in a way that most Anti-Heroes don't quite tap into.

I also need to check out the work he did on Nick Fury as well, which I hear is pretty controversial.

I did read the Fury MAX series and it's entertainingly over the top. I at first didn't know what to make of it but as an "Elseworlds" type take on 616 Nick Fury, I have to say, it's fun.

I know a guy who said he hated the Kingpin in the DD show because he was boring half the time and great the rest. I had to explain to him about how he had two sides to the character and how that made him work. He sort of got it but still found him boring. :whatever:
Sounds like "Yeah, Kingpin is overrated, fine half the time, but certainly not great" is how your friend should word it.

As great as DD on Netflix was, the one thing I disliked a lot was how the arc for Fisk finished up. There's little chance of me believing that Fisk can come back and be a free man to continue arching DD. And maybe that's fine. The series was strong and it doesn't HAVE to mirror the comics, so I get that. Fisk was A villain that DD stops. But the fanboy in me wishes they had found a way to give DD a big win against Fisk and NOT put him away or have some huge public occurrence where there's no denying Fisk's guilt, which is what they went with. That's what I would have liked. Perhaps they feared that something like that would be too similar to how the DD film ended?

I wouldn't be surprised if he beats the charges and clears his name in the eyes of the public for the most part

Hiya commish.
If you want to be a member of the Hype, you must love Batman and the Christopher Nolan trilogy, or we will not allow you to join our clubs.

Now try combining all of that into a single thing.

There's a taco place I know called Ronaldo's where the food always contains some spider and some cat, and its effect on your internal organs is not dissimilar to a piledriver delivered with the power of the Speedforce.

This needs to be a future fatality, delivered by none other than Bo Raicho.

sounds like an awesome taco

like while you're eating it, you can feel your colon already beginning to get ready to expel it from your body like an exorcism

Fun fact: it been two years as of today when Ben Affleck was first cast as Batman, times have definitely changed over the years.

Like I said on the BvS forums, I first heard of the news when I got back home from a long ass hike and plopped myself down in front of the computer. I was the number one story on CBM (yes, I used to frequent the site back when I was a punk ass kid). I was more surprised than anything because I expected WB and Snyder to go with a lesser known actor (I was really pushing for Richard Armitage).
