just post intersting facts that you belive arent widely known.

For instance: Did you know that Thor's mother Gaea is also Hercules' great grandmother, making thor his uncle?

The gods are all about the incest and awkward family ties. :)

Did you know Thor being Thor was a very early retcon? For his first few issues of Journey into Mystery, he was presented as the man, Donald Blake, gaining Thor's power but retaining his own mind. Glad they made the switch, myself.

Did You know: That Stan Lee wasn't exceptionally fond of the Avengers, or the concept of the team, and was basically forced to create it to compete with the JLA. He vastly preferred the F4.

Did You know: That Doctor Doom still believes that Kang the Conqueror might be a future incarnation of himself, even though this has been disproven in comics.

Did You know: That Apocalypse was a last minute creation to fulfill the role of archenemy for original X-Factor team; Daredevil's long dormant enemy The Owl was going to be the team's main villain.

Did you know: That the Venom symbiote was originally going to be bonded to a woman, blaming Spider-Man for the deaths of her husband and unborn child?

Did you know: Eddie Brock was meant to die in Amazing Spider-Man 400 (the symbiote would then jump from one host to th next)?

Did you know: Carnage was originally going to be called "Ravage", then "Chaos"?

Did you know: Wolverine was originally going to be revealed as an actual wolverine mutated by the High Evolutionary into a human/mutate?

Did you know: That during his premier appearance, the Hulk was gray only because of the limited coloring Marvel had at that time?

Did you know: The Black Cat was originally going to be an arch-nemesis for Spider-Woman, before being shifted over as a "Catwoman-esque" Spider-Man character?

Did you know: That nick fury isn't completely blind in his patched eye

Actually, Hulk became GREEN because the printers at the time had a hard time generating gray.

FYI, CBR.com has a great weekly column on Fridays called Comic Book Legends Revealed. They archive the past articles somewhere on the site. It is incredible reading most times. They cover Marvel/DC and all other books from the 60's/70's.

Cheers.

So Venom was going to be interesting? Wow.

Venom is more interesting than you. Do you have an alien stuck to your junk? No, sir. No, you do not. :cmad:

Losing family is at least a good reason to be all vengeful. What if Bruce Wayne decided to become Batman because his father was laid off from the hospital?

MY PARENTS ARE UNEMPLOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYEEEDDD!!

Not just unemployed, his whole career was shattered beyond repair. He could never be taken seriously as a journalist of any kind ever again. I can see how that would drive someone to suicide and supervillainy. You know, if supervillainy were an option in the real world. :o

Pfft, he coulda became a paparazzo and made more money than he did trying to be a real journalist.

Did You Know: Charles Xavier's body is actually a cloned copy. His original body was killed when the X-Men first encountered the Brood and his mind was transfered into a cloned one.

Did you know : Apocalypse was going to be revealed as the third Summers brother. It involved time travel and s*** like that.

I remember reading about that. I don't remember the details of the rest of it but whoever was going to write that actually had some stuff that really intrigued me. The Apocalypse/Summers Brother detail wasn't among them.

It was gonna be in an issue of Cable if I remember correctly. Robert Weinberg was going to write it. Corsair was gonna have an affair with some chick and she gets knocked up. Then some mysterious time traveler takes the baby and abandons it in ancient Egypt. That baby becomes En Sabah Nur.

I thought it was supposed to be Adam X? I know Gambit as the 3rd brother was a insanely popular rumor with fans.

It should've been Adam X instead of Vulcan , but what can you do ? I thought that Gambit being the 3rd brother was stupid. It was just because he had red eyes. If Scott could control his powers then people would see that he has brown eyes.

Robert Weinberg came up with this idea because he thought that Apocalypse being the first mutant to be born was stupid. Hence the time travel aspects of that new proposed origin.

Well, obviously he had some measure of self-respect. A paparazzo would never think of offing himself. When they hit rock-bottom, they grab a shovel and see just how much farther there is to go. :oldrazz:

And becoming the walking posterboy for crappy 90's characters is better? I don't know man. I think I'd rather dig threw Angilina Jolie's garbage looking for tampons to take pictures of.

Eddie should've started the Marvel version of TMZ.

Yeah, but you're not Eddie Brock. :o

Sounds like Venom would have been a lot more interesting to me and Apocalypse would have definitely been more interesting.
I would love to see those comics written as "What Ifs".
What If Venom attatched itself to a woman who blamed Spider-Man for the loss of her family?
What If Apocalypse was the 3rd Summers brother?

Did you know: The X-Men were sort of created out of laziness. Stan Lee says he wasn't sure or interested in doing another origin so he decided they were born with powers instead. And i guess he probably quickly realized it could be the story of bigotry and hatred for those who are different.

Did you know: Wolverine was going to be the son of Sabertooth. Chris Claremont, I believe, said he intended for Creed to be Logan's father. Thats why Creed always knew how to find him and why he always beat him up.

Did you know: The New Gods was created while Jack Kirby was still working for Marvel, and was originally intended to be part of Thor? The death of the old gods was going to be Ragnarok, the death of the Asgardians. but Kirby knew Marvel wouldn't let him kill off Thor and kept his idea secret so that Marvel wouldn't use it.

Good on Kirby. I would've never forgiven him for killing off Thor. Although, obviously, Ragnarok still happened, complete with rebirths, a few times. But thankfully it was a rebirth of the same gods, not new ones.
