First off... Mods. If this isn't the proper forum feel free to move this, but it is Marvel Comics related, though a game, so I think this would be fine.

Okay, an idea for a cute game. Could last a few days, could be years to come... who's to say?! Anyhow, it's simple and should just go one person to the next. Here's the idea.... I post a snipet from a decently known image from a marvel comic... be it cover or interior art, etc. Whoever can name the issue the image is from, or show the full image that it came from, can then either post the next snippet, or pass it on to someone else.

Let's start... name what this image is from. I think it's a fairly easy starting snippet.

Neat idea, JH! (I would have no idea how to snippet something down, though.)

I know that picture...it's on the tip of my tongue!

I knew it was Wolverine...and, I was sure it was from Weapon X. Going to my comic box, sure enough! Marvel Comics Presents #72! (Good thing you didn't use interior art. I didn't want to open up my bags.)

Good job Phaed!

Here's how I do it.

1) Save picture to your computer/Scan/whatever... just get it on your computer.

2) Open it in "Paint".

3) Go to "Edit" then "Select All"

4) Place curser over image and left click (hold button) and you should be able to move the image. Move it until the part you want is in the top left-hand corner.

5) Click in the white area (or just off of the picture) so that the image isn't selected anymore.

6) Place the curser on the dot in the bottom right-hand corner and left click (hold button) and drag the block up and in until you have the image you want to present for this game... let go of button.

7) Go to "File" and "Save"

8) Then rename it so that the title doesn't give away what the image is from.

And participate in game. You can also resize images, but that's a little more indepth. We'll all that one step 2 once you figure out step 1.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, this isn't exactly another Contest Of Marvels, but I thought it'd be a fun game to play for a bit.

Until you can figure out how to crop something, I'll get another one going for the sake of keeping the game going.

Maybe something a little differant... name that cover!

Come on guys. I don't think it's too difficult. Give it a guess.

Dang it! Almost got it, but it gives me a bunch of the white background.

BTW, that was too easy, JH. Amazing Spider-Man 365! It has a very distinctive cover.

Just starting them out easy. And as for that white background. When you have the picture smaller like that, click in the white background so it deselects the image. Then go to the corner of the white area (the other area should be grey if it's like mine) and drag that in until it's grey all around the picture. That'll get rid of the white.

And I'm going to have to think on that Wolverine image. It definately looks familiar.

Man... that's a tough one. I was thinking it was early X-Men right after he got the brown costume, but it isn't from a cover of Uncanny X-Men or Classic X-Men. Unless it's an interior image it's a guest star. I'm trying to figure out who he's clawing, but it looks like just some robot or something. Not sure what he's holding though, that might give me a clue. I'll have to try it again later.

Anyone else have a guess?

You are close in your guess, getting the time and everything correct. The key, as you noted, is the arm. You get the arm, you'll figure it out right away. (I'm not sure anyone else but you and me are playing, though. Ok with me, I'm having a good time.)

Okay... I'm going to make an official guess (and I do mean guess). The arm strikes me as Moses Magnum... so I'm going to say Uncanny X-Men 119.

Edit... Just realized Wolvie was still wearing the Yellow costume then... so I'll have to do some more research. I shall return!

BOOYAH BABY!!!

As soon as it hit me as ROM I knew I had it! How was ROM anyhow? I've always been curious.

Next image coming up!

Good job, JH!

Ok, Spider-Man comic with Thor on the cover. Hmmmm...I'll have to work on that one.

I loved Rom when it first came out. I'm not sure how good it is today, as I've read a lot of 80's comics I used to love, and just find out how much better the writing and stories are today. But, while you can find Rom #17 and 18 pretty cheap today, it's always been the Rom issues most in demand, simply because of the X-Men's appearance. (I wonder if they ever made Rom action figures?)

Ok, you got me for a little bit. I bit on Amazing S-Man Annual #3...but, that Thor in the corner was quite a bit smaller than that arm. I started thinking Thor might be Thunderstrike...Then, that lead me to Thor #448.

Yep! Good job. I thought I'd throw you a bit by showing the "Spider-Man" letters in there and see how long it'd take you to see that it's actually just an obvious Thor comic. Didn't take you long at all, I'm impressed. You're up!

My work computer is acting up. I'll have a snippet when I get home today.

That's cool. I work second shift now so I may not be able to get to it until late tonight or tomorrow, so you have time. The fact that I'm now addicted to Y the Last Man now may also delay my participation. I'm close to finishing the series and can barely pull myself away.

I started reading that this year. I have all the issues, but one issue in the 30's, and 51-52, 54-59. Luckily, I got the first ten issues when I bought that guys collection of comics for 500 bucks about two years ago.

Ah, I got rid of the white background this time. Good luck.

I never planned on reading it (don't do the rated "R" comics) but a guy at work just kept hounding me about it so I thought I'd give it a shot. Now I can't stop reading it!

Hmm, pic looks like a big event. I'll have to look into it when I get home tonight. I'm about to leave at the moment.
