Arrow The Matt Ryan/ John Constantine thread

Maybe, and I'm just trying to draw off the mythos Constantine tried to establish (and I think there is a Constantine director or something, right?) bringing Sara back from the dead opened a portal between those realms and Constantine comes in to try and close it? Too Supernatural-ly?

So glad that we'll be seeing Matt Ryan as Constantine again, even if it is just a one-shot deal. He was perfect, even if the show (and the other actors on it) were far from it.

I thought the overall show Constantine was good but I thought Matt Ryan as the title character was the best thing about it.

I hope we get a Constantine season 2 in CW. Matt Ryan is just too good as JC. We need Zatanna as well!

CW is not going to pick up the show, they are already on overload with DC shows.

Maybe Constantine can be apart of Legends of Tomorrow in season 2 if there is one.

We're thrilled to announce that #Constantine & #AlmostHuman make their cable debuts on @ElReyNetwork in November!

What the hell is an El Rey Network and do they have funds to give us a second season?

El Rey is a kind of obscure t.v network. it has the show from dusk till dawn and a luchidor wrestling show. And does it say it's gettig a second season? Or the show is just Comin to the network?

El Rey is Robert Rodriguez's channel and they're just airing what was on NBC.

It could make one think, seeing as to how a dark, gritty show like From Dusk Till Dawn did manage to do good enough to warrant a second season, that maybe, just maybe, El Rey could have also been a better home for Constantine from the start. Certainly better than NBC.

I think Legends is a good platform for additional heroes to show up who aren't as popular to have their own solo series, or got their series canned but have a good following still, like Constantine.

The budget on an El Rey show is a tiny fraction of an NBC show. If Constantine were on El Rey in the first place they never would have been able to afford the same actors, writers, producers, special effects, etc. It would have been an entirely different show.

This isn't a sign that Constantine is coming back. El Rey just needs cheap programming. That's why they're getting Almost Human too. El Rey is tiny even in the context of a niche cable network.

But if the repeats do well it could spur Warner TV to release a Blu Ray box set or something. I'd be on board with that.

Special effects would probably not be in the same quality and/or used as frequent as in NBC, I suppose, but as far as actors and writers, well, the positive reviews shows like From Dusk Till Dawn and Matador received clearly shows that they had solid writing, and had same type of caliber actors that Constantine had. Indeed, though, it's possible it would have been a different show, as due to budget, although there's also the entertaining notion on how having limited budget forces one to be more creative.

He's finally here again next week, and I can't wait. Seeing Matt Ryan play off of the Arrow cast is going to be more than worth the price of admission, nevermind the awesomeness of John Constantine as a character (especially this version).
