I have to say that McCain is doing rather well in his speech. However I hate how he says Orleans.
McCain differs greatly from President Bush on a number of issues. Of course they agree on some major issues, but they have butted heads on more than one occasion. I think the point McCain is trying to make is that anyone different from President Bush is, by definition, "change." Now he is asking you to believe that his brand of "change" is better than BO's.
He can't speak without a teleprompter, he refers to every as his friends, and smiles with glazed over eyes after the majority of statements he makes.

But John McCain is my friend![]()

I can't stand it Hippie!
"My friends...friends...friends...my friends...friends...my friends...friends friends friends friends friends!!"
It honestly drives me crazy!![]()
This video just kills me.

John McCain wants to be your friend too. Why don't you want to be his friend? You're going to hurt his feelings.
Seriously though, McCain is doing a damn good job tonight though with his speech, with all the crap Obama has said about McCain being Bush's third term McCain is calling him out for certain hypocrisies and absurdity of his ideas.
And he's doing a good job in distancing himself from the Bush Administration as well.
I won't say letting Bush in at your fundraising events to help raise money for your election is distancing yourself from the Bush Administration...
saw his speech last night. all i can say is that McCain's fake smiles were torture. he would have been better off if he had just kept a straight face the entire time. what a *****e...
I'm so glad I'm not alone in my line of thinking. McCain's speech was the only one that I got to see all of and it was torture. All of the major network news anchors (with the obvious exception of FOX News) were saying how old he came across and how phony it all seemed. I did see parts of Obama's speech and I must say that if this is any indication of how the general election campaign is going to go...we're in for quite an interesting one.
yeah, my friend and i were watching McCain make his speech and there were several times where i rolled my eyes, threw my head back, and scoffed in amazement because i couldn't believe what i was seeing. i've seen better acting in hillbilly porn flicks. at one point, i literally told my friend "dude, i can't take this anymore!!!" and he changed the channel temporarily.
the whole time i was watching McCain make that horrid speech, i kept thinking to myself "i can't f***ing wait until the debates!!!"
I can't stand it Hippie!

You just quoted every John McCain speech I've heard in the last 6 months. Throw in the weird, fake smile and the failed attempts to raise the arms up and you'll have it down pat.You just quoted every John McCain speech I've heard in the last 6 months. Ooooh yeah.
I couldn't watch his speech. My eyes were blurring and my head started spinning. I simply cannot, CANNOT take his speeches. It's incredible. If he calls me his friend one more time i'm gonna demand a birthday gift from him.

The contrast between these two is going to be something to behold. Not in policy, but in style, structure and appearance. Obama just has to do a jumping jack and he'll win the debates. And now McCain wants to do town hall meetings? Is this even wise? I know he does better when he does not have a teleprompter, but what does happen in that instance is he forgets what he says on a week to week basis and then contradicts himself! Good lord. We're in for a ****ing show my friends. GAH! NOW I'M SAYING IT!

Yeah but everybody KNEW Bush was an idiot already. And Kerry lost becuase he too was a ****ing idiot and a weakling who let ******** claims about his vietnam record go unchallenged, castrated the democrats in the convention by telling them NOT to go negative based on republican pressure, only to then have the republicans turn around and use thier convention as a Kerry slaughterhouse. The democrats let themselves be used as door mats in that campaign. It was thiers to win and they basically garaunteed themselves a loss. Obama is not that weak. If he is, then this election is already over.
Bush is such an idiot that he was able to hoodwink the entire US Congress, UN, Great Britain, Australia, France...he's so remarkably stupid that he was able to fool the entire world into agreeing that we should invade Iraq. Yes indeed, what a fool.
I don't think the world agreed with US when they invades Iraq, except for US's closest allies like Britain.
The coalition included military personnel from Great Britain, Australia, Poland, South Korea, Romania, El Salvador, Bulgaria, Albania, Czech Republic, Georgia, Denmark, Ukraine...The list is very long and encompasses many different nations and ideologies.

Yes, but there were also many other nations who were against the invasion, so your comment that the "world" supported the Iraq war from the start isn't very accurate.
Then let me rephrase..."Countries that span the entire world and every continent save for Antarctica." Is that more palatable for you?
