Jeb Bush meeting with McCain

Oh, dear God, no!

Good for him. I see he is taking the shotgun in the mouth, suicidal approach to running for President. Really though, if McCain wants to just hand the election over to Obama, there is no better way than picking Jeb as his running mate.

Wow...that's not good for him at all! What are the current percentages?

Or I'd play possum and pray that it happens knowing that it'd be bad for McCain in the end. McCain's people are smarter than that, they won't let him do something like pick Jeb. They'll go for Pawlenty to put Minnesota in play or a woman. My thoughts exactly guys. I'm telling you right now - if I were on the DNC/Obama national campaign, you had better believe that I would have a field day with something like this.
The fact that this story is circulating will do enough damage. IF McCain were to actually pick him as VP, he might as well quit.

10 things you should know about John McCain (but probably don't):

- John McCain voted against establishing a national holiday in honor of Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Now he says his position has "evolved," yet he's continued to oppose key civil rights laws.1

[*]According to Bloomberg News, McCain is more hawkish than Bush on Iraq, Russia and China. Conservative columnist Pat Buchanan says McCain "will make Cheney look like Gandhi."2

[*]His reputation is built on his opposition to torture, but McCain voted against a bill to ban waterboarding, and then applauded President Bush for vetoing that ban.3
[*]McCain opposes a woman's right to choose. He said, "I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned."4
[*]The Children's Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children. He voted against the children's health care bill last year, then defended Bush's veto of the bill.5
[*]He's one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a "second job" and skip their vacations.6
[*]Many of McCain's fellow Republican senators say he's too reckless to be commander in chief. One Republican senator said: "The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He's erratic. He's hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."7
[*]McCain talks a lot about taking on special interests, but his campaign manager and top advisers are actually lobbyists. The government watchdog group Public Citizen says McCain has 59 lobbyists raising money for his campaign, more than any of the other presidential candidates.8
[*]McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his "spiritual guide," Rod Parsley, believes America's founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a "false religion." McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church "the Antichrist" and a "false cult."9
[*]He positions himself as pro-environment, but he scored a 0yes, zerofrom the League of Conservation Voters last year.10
WTF????![]()
It always intrigues me when people say they'll vote for McCain solely on the fact that he will drill for oil domestically, when 1) it will take years for that oil to get to our gas pumps, 2) most economists agree that prices won't go down much at all, and 3) even if prices do go down at first, they will most likely rebound several months later.
Of course, the only thing most voters want to hear is "drilling for oil domestically will magically cause gas prices to go down!," so in that regard, McCain certainly is playing his cards right-- even if his plans to drill domestically and cut the gas tax won't ease the burden at the pump at all.
I would love to see some more details of this, especially that last sentence... you're talking about moveon.org after all.
Another opinion based on what exactly?
Good for him. We should allow that stuff.
I definitely disagree with that one. Government should have no business in that type of thing.:
Meh. Doesn't affect me, so I could care less either way.
And he's right. Not his fault that stupid ass people bought into this housing mess. He made good financial decisions in his life, shouldn't penalize him for it. Get lazy people off their asses and be responsible for themselves.
Opinions.
: Shame on McCain for that one.
Just like Obama, I don't care who they decide to reach out to for support when it comes to religion. If you wanna crucify McCain for wanting votes, then do the same to Obama and his crazy-ass preachers.
Luckily, I don't care about the environment. And if McCain actually gets us to drill in this country for oil, regardless of all the environmental zealouts who really control things, then he just may get my vote after all.![]()

Wow... just wow. So let me get this straight... you have no problems with torture, you don't care about kids, and you are willing to ravage the environment just to get some oil that wont even be available to us for at least five years just because you don't want to pay more money at the pump. Gotcha.
Ah, ignorance, good to know you're still alive and kicking.

No, I have no problems with torture when it's warranted. And contrary to what bleeding hearts want to believe, sometimes it is warranted.
I care about my own kids, but don't give a flip about someone else's. Besides, in the end health care should be universal.
And the environment? Please. Had Clinton allowed drilling 10 years ago, we would have that oil NOW. So yeah, since I'll be long dead before the world starts walking around in gas masks 24/7, I say drill now.

With all due respect, the choices that we make now will affect future generations. Just because you don't care, doesn't mean that your children should be made to suffer the consequences. Which inevitably they will, if we choose not to act.
You sound like who listens to others but hasn't bothered to research this particular nugget of information. Intriguing.
If they choose to have kids of their own, well that's their decision, is it not?
Jman is one of the most informed posters on here. You are completely off base.
You're smarter than that USMC. I am talking about your children and their children, which would also be your grandchildren. You stated that you cared for your kids, which I would assume meant that you care for your family. The decisions that we make now will affect future generations. Those future generations include your children and beyond.
