Norman, how do you feel about McCain's position on women's issues? I provided a number of interesting vids on the previous page. McCain putting his wife forward as a candidate in a misogonistic biker competition
 Please tell me you aren't really trying to use that.

McCain voting against family planning issues and being very level with Bush concerning contraception

I disagree with McCain on the issue, but abortion is a subject that no President is ever going to impact. Its a dead issue, the conservative base will never win it - so its relevance to my support of a candidate is almost non existent.

McCain voting against women getting equel pay, etc.

Show me where McCain actually is against woman not being paid equally to a man for the same work. I believe it is more along the lines that he is against federal regulations against businesses - which I support.

The more I look it up, the more it seems Obama can tear McCain a new one concerning women's issues. McCain doesn't even have women's issues on his website whereas Obama does.

Fine, Obama grabs a hold of Women's Issue and McCain keeps nailing Obama with drilling - we will see which one matters more to Americans.

Actually, my friend, a president could have a lot to do with abortion. It would take a Conservative Supreme Court to overturn Roe vs Wade, and there will be a couple retiring justices in the next few years.

The problem is, the Senate will definitely expand its Democratic majority, meaning that the likelihood McCain will get a nominee through the Senate who supports overturning Roe v. Wade is slim to none....

Fine - in THEORY it COULD happen, but its never going to. Even if Roe vs Wade is overturned - abortion will never be illegal in this country.

If it were defined by the SCOTUS as the killing of a helpless individual (murder), it would be.

I would also like to add that Paris Hilton is better at reading a teleprompter than McCain is. :hehe:

Which, again, I don't think it would ever come to that. That would lead to massive chaos and I the Supreme Court knows that.

1. Do you think it is appropriate for a presidential candidate to put his wife forward, even as a joke, for entry in a competition that involves wet t-shirts, sexually suggestive pickle eating, etc? A PRESIDENTIAL candidate?

2. If Obama had done this, we'd never hear the end of it. Do you deny that?

Drilling matters more than women? I mean, honestly. Obama is FOR drilling (in a limited manner). He also happens to be for women's issues, which McCain has not displayed.

He was speaking in front of 60,000 bikers, and it was a joke. i don't see anything inappropriate about it.

The question remains: were the bikers there for the rally and the Miss Buffalo Chip pageant, or were they there just to hear a McCain speech

I'm guessing they were there to ride motorcycles, drink beer, ge tattoos, see boobies and listen to hair metal bands, not see John McCain.

The question remains: did 70,000 people show up to hear Obama speak, or to hear Wilco play?

And in Germany, there were 2 HUGE German rock bands playing before Obama's speech. Interesting...

It seems like a weird (possibly altogether inappropriate) place for John McCain to give a speech anyway, nevermind suggesting his wife for the pageant.

I forget if there's something similar to midnight madness for college football. McCain could find some larger crowds there

I think the bands in Germany showed up after Obama planned the trip and got it arranged, instead of 2 bands deciding to play outside and then Obama comes along and say "Can I speak after you play?"

And who is Wilco

And I'm pretty sure the crowd didn't show up before the trip was arranged. Trip arranged - bands added - people show up.

Look them up. They kick ass.

Just listened to a couple Wilco songs on Youtube.

Pretty good, but not my style. I'll pass

I think there is a difference between Obama in Germany and McCain at the Miss Buffalo Chip pageant.

If I'm not mistaken, Obama's speech came after the bands played. The people had a choice to go after the bands were done playing but they stayed to hear Obama.

The bikers had to stay and hear McCain before the concert. If the bikers wanted to hear the bands they had to hear McCain first.

Plus, Lets not forget that it's not unusual for Obama to have huge crowds come just to see him here in the US without the help of a concert.

Go to their web site, click on "Records," and listen to the first song. "Sky Blue Sky" is also a good song.
