What the hell is this? What does "Domain Parking" have to do with anything we have been talking about?
PHILADELPHIA, PA — In a sign of increasing nastiness on the left, supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama have been booing rivals John McCain and Sarah Palin, and even screaming “liar!” — with no response from Obama. Yesterday, at a Philadelphia hockey game, Obama supporters booed Sarah Palin — despite the fact that Palin was accompanied by her 7-year-old daughter. Some notoriously conservative news outlets, such as MSNBC, have reported that there were cheers mixed in with the boos. But it appears clear that there was significant booing, all from Democrats — and the trend towards ugliness is clear.
The emotion of anger has been distressingly present at Obama rallies. Stephen Hayes reports the disturbing details.
This morning at a McCain rally here, a bearded young man in the crowd responded to a McCain critique of Barack Obama by shouting: “You’re a liar John!” He then hoisted a young woman with an antiwar poster onto his shoulders and began yelling antiwar gibberish as McCain tried to continue his speech. When McCain supporters ripped up the woman’s sign, she unfolded another one and the spectacle continued.
Earlier, at a rally in Philadelphia, Obama praised John McCain’s service to America and called for a civil debate over the final days of the campaign. He was lustily booed by his angry supporters.
And yesterday, at a McCain rally in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, another angry heckler shouted “Liar” and other insults at McCain from the crowd.
There are indications that Obama has been spurring his crowds to anger, sometimes launching into what Reuters as described as an “attack” against the former POW and military hero, even as McCain has been cautioning his supporters to respect Obama.
In addition, reports indicate that Obama failed to bring his rallies to a grinding halt to remonstrate the hecklers. Some say that Obama must have heard the hecklers, since reporters heard them. Other experts suggest that Obama is creating an atmosphere that could well turn to violence. As James F. Treacher, Professor of Media Studies at Noesutch University, notes: “If Obama isn’t an evil, racist, fascist hatemonger of hateful hatred, why hasn’t he conceded the election?”
Syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin warns that the recent Democratic anger is part of a larger trend of death threats and other concerning behavior from the left. Malkin, who routinely receives racist attacks and death threats from Democrats, notes in a comprehensive post the hate-filled attacks on McCain and Palin, such as artwork calling Palin a “MILP” — “Mother I’d Like to Punch.” Malkin’s post is replete with examples of the left suggesting that President Bush be killed, and that McCain and Palin be attacked in violent ways.
“Holy crap,” New York Times columnist Kall Prugman said in a brief phone interview. “I had no idea we were worse than the people at the McCain rallies.”
UPDATE: Thanks to Instapundit for the link. Here is some more stuff that would be Very Significant if done by McCain supporters, but hardly merits any mention, because it was done by Obama supporters:

  • Vandals spray-paint “Republican means slavery” at a local GOP Headquarters. (By the way, the linked story continues to spread the canard that someone yelled “Kill him!” about Obama at a McCain rally. That is a lie. If the phrase was yelled (a commenter of mine says the man was yelling something else), it was about murderous terrorist Bill Ayers and not about Obama.

At the L.A. Times, blogger Andrew Malcolm is asking very sensible questions: Does political restraint apply only to Republicans? And if the Democrats fail to exercise restraint, will the media notice? I hope he is asking his colleagues this question — and I hope his colleagues are listening. So far, however, his own paper seems interested only in painting Republicans as “nasty.”

Wearing a T-shirt stating “Sarah Palin is a c*nt.” (No, the T-shirt does not use an asterisk.)

OK Norm, I have to go right now, My wife has to go see her doctor this morning, But I'll be back and we can get into this post. :yay:

After a thorough re-reading it is obviously a joke piece, though it does contain reports I have heard from other sources.

I am checking to see if I these incidents the other sources reported were valid or simply stemmed from that site.

EDIT: The article as a whole is a joke, the incidents listed are not.

I read it, though I will admit I was openly looking for an article that listed a few incidents I had heard from other places.

If you click on the links in the story about the incidents, it takes you to non-comedic websites that collaborate it.

LMAO! Oh noes!1!1!!!! Someone screamed "Liars!" at an Obama rally regarding McCain and Palin. That's sooooo much worse than people burning Obama in effigy and threatening to kill him at Palin and McCain rallies. As for the hockey game and Palin getting booed in front of her 7 year old daughter, she blatantly tried to use that kid as a shield:

Palin Drops Puck at Flyer’s Game Receives Mixed Reaction
by Shushannah Walshe

PHILADELPHIA –-

Sarah Palin has become known as “The Most Famous Hockey Mom in America” for her constant referral to herself on the stump as “just a hockey mom.” This evening, she met that title head on by dropping the first puck of the Philadelphia Flyers hockey season in their opener with the New York Rangers.

A carpet was laid down and Palin, dressed in a beige trench, walked on to the ice joined by her daughters Willow and Piper. The GOP Vice-Presidential nominee said at an earlier fundraiser that she would stop some of the booing from the rowdy Philadelphia fans by putting her seven year old daughter, Piper in a Flyers jersey. She said, “How dare they boo Piper!”

Her secret weapon may have worked. The crowd in this staunchly Democratic city –visited today by Barack Obama—gave Palin mixed reviews. There were audible boos over the very loud music and some in the crowd had their thumbs down, but there were also many people clapping and cheering the GOP Vice-Presidential nominee.

Once she got on the ice she met the woman who won the “Ultimate Hockey Mom” contest, Cathy O’Connell from Erdenheim, Pennsylvania and patted her on the back. Flyers captain Mike Richards skated over to shake Palin’s hand and fellow Alaskan and New York Ranger Scotty Gomez greeted his Governor who gave him a kiss on the cheek. Palin then leaned over for the face off between the two players and dropped the puck.

The Palins joined by the “Ultimate Hockey Mom” walked off the ice waving to the crowd.

The MILP stuff isn't very nice, but then again...neither were all the buttons on the GOP Convention Floor with Palin's picture and the letters VPILF.

And, what sort of Bizarro Logic is this statement?:
“If Obama isn’t an evil, racist, fascist hatemonger of hateful hatred, why hasn’t he conceded the election?”

That doesn't even make sense.

The vandalism and "Sarah is a c*nt" t-shirts are pretty low-brow. But to suggest that any of this comes even close to the hate rhetoric and actions that have surfaced at McCain/Palin rallies, including inferring that Obama is a terrorist and hates America as Palin and McCain have done themselves, is ludicrous. I haven't seen McCain burned in effigy. I haven't seen a ghost hanging from a noose in someone's front yard with McCain's name on it and the owner saying he hates McCain because he is white. I haven't heard people screaming "Kill him!" and "Off with his head!" at Obama rallies in reference to McCain.

This is all Bizarro Logic nonsense of the Rovian Nature in which you take the legitimate arguments against you your opponent has made in criticizing your actions and try to make it sound like they are just as guilty if not more so of the same things even though they really are not in reality.

Well if it helps, Palin herself admitted this -

“I’ve been warned that Flyers fans, they get so enthused, that they boo everybody at the drop of the puck,” she said at a Philadelphia fundraiser Saturday afternoon. “But what I thought I’d do is I’d put Piper in a Flyers jersey, bring her out with me. How dare they boo Piper!”

And in the end who cares. You're always gonna have boos and fanatics at rallies.

I think the onus lies with McCain and Palin for not IMMEDIATELY stopping people from calling Obama a terrorist and saying to kill him in the first place. Since this seems to have all started with their rallies.

That's the hardest I've laughed at a gaffe for awhile. Bravo McCain, bravo.

"Senator Obama's supporters have been saying some nasty things about Western Pensylvania, and I.....couldn't agree with them MORE!!! I couldn't disagree with you, agree with you...."

LOL.

The only thing that could have made that better was after the, "I couldn't agree with them more", for McCain to give a one finger salute and walk off the stage. It was that good of an unintentional set up.

That one is good, but McCain's gaffe from today is so good that I have to link to it instead of putting it up here because it violates the Superhero Hype! rules of displaying videos with cuss words in them:

Cindy's reaction after McCain slips up is priceless.

haha Cindy looks like if she had a riding crop on her she would have hit John pretty hard.

I think Cindy reacted because she had a flashback of Johns angry tantrums.

McCain Advisers Freaked Out by Al Qaeda Preference for McCain

I just got off a conference call held by the McCain campaign to deny that Al Qaeda, contrary to reports in the AP and the Washington Post, is rooting for their man. To describe the call as panicked would be an understatement.

Jim Woolsey, the former CIA director who publicly connected Iraq to the 9/11 attacks without any evidence in 2001, and senior foreign-policy adviser Randy Scheunemann spent more time whining about the Washington Post’s standards of fairness than on the logic of why Al Qaeda might prefer Sen. John McCain. “An amazing piece of journalism, and I use journalism in quotation marks,” Scheunemann said, going on to list barely approving quotes of Sen. Barack Obama from Hamas, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad and Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi, which he said he wasn’t going “to characterize.” Woolsey, for his part, peered into the mind of what he called “one individual Islamist blogger from one terrorist Islamist blog” and determined that he was “clearly trying to damage John McCain” and “not speaking from his heart.”

What was absent from the call, oddly enough, was any discussion about why Al Qaeda might want McCain to win. And there the case is simple enough. Al Qaeda prefers an indefinite U.S. occupation of Iraq and a bellicose U.S. all across the Muslim world to radicalize Muslims to its terrorist cause and drain the U.S. of its financial wealth — what Osama bin Laden calls his “bleed to bankruptcy” strategy. Hence, the reason why, as the CIA eventually concluded, Bin Laden tried to help George W. Bush’s reelection in 2004 by releasing a late-October tape. McCain pledges basic continuity with Bush on the Iraq war. As Scheunemann put it, “John McCain will spend what it takes to win.”

Yet the idea of Al Qaeda preferring a U.S. strategy that strengthens it confounded the McCain camp. “It is ridiculous to believe that in its heart of hearts, Al Qaeda wants John McCain to be the president,” Woolsey said. “It’s ludicrous.” But the only thing that’s ludicrous is Woolsey’s expectation that the American public will keep falling for this sort of misdirection by the same blinkered analysts who blundered the U.S. into Iraq in the first place.
