Robs backup vocals do suck....

Yes they do... But his bass playing? Effin' amazing.

Violent & Funky is one of my favorite songs EVER.

He's a better player than Jason... For the longest time I just didn't like him because he was the replacement. I got over it eventually and really came to like him.

DM needed some more Bass love.

"To all Metallica members, here, or not here, thank you".

Guess Mustaine didn't show up. harumph.

Damn. I thought Mustaine and the boys patched things up(for the most part)

I forgot why I was watching it and changed the channel during Jimmy Page's long speech lol

I just forgot to order the channel :(

I'm sure it will show up online in the next few days.

Aw man, I didn't know a Metallica thread already existed, I thought about starting one. :(

It goes cold and dry for weeks and months at a time sometimes :(

As much as I love Metallica, I really hope they begin work on a new album soon. Back in the old days, they used to finish an album, and pick right up with the new one within a year.

It's been seven months now, so I'm hoping to hear that they're developing songs and putting riffs together. I wanna hear a Ride the Lightning 2 damnit!

True, but that's back before they were married with kids. They've slowed down a bit since The Black Album.
By the way, finally played GH: Metallica. This game rocks!

They have. Back in February, Mustaine gave his congrats to Metallica when he heard they were going to be inducted. But he's on tour.

Ok, but I still don't see why Mustaine should have gone. Metallica is doing their thing, Dave's doing his thing in Megadeth. Both sides have made their peace.

Hello.. um, what's the deal here? gotta just listen Metallica or you gotta follow a certain trend (meaning, I only liked them up till the black album and other examples)?

Would it have been nice if he'd gone? Sure.

But I don't think he needed to go.

They still have a completed unreleased 11th song that wasn't put on death magnetic...

Love Metallica, saw them last year in Dublin and they were unreal. Can't wait to see them again this year.

But back in the old days they didn't have world tours that lasted years and didn't really have families they wanted to be with.

They have 4 nigh on completed songs left from the DM sessions (1 of which is totally finished) and they are writing on the road, but they're booked to tour DM until the end of 2010, so who knows when they'll get around to properly getting songs together again.

As of last weekend, he was already back at home.

Metallica invited him to the ceremony, but he declined weeks ago. "Touring" was his reason.

"Suck" is a bit harsh. The singing part is fairly weak but he's really good on stuff like Creeping Death and Stone Dead Forever where he has to bark out the lyrics.

Just because someone is invited to something doesn't mean that person has to go. He politely declined. He could have been an ass and fluffed it off with no response.

Besides, he was only in Metallica for 2 years. How long has he done his thing in Megadeth? Waaaaay longer.

Here's a comparison of the day that never comes. On top is the guitar hero rip and on bottom is the album version

Audacity, huh? What a crappy program. Get Sonar, or if you have the money, Pro Tools.

The difference between the two cuts is the Compression. (ie: they "squashed" the song's levels to be more unified, then bumped up the gain). Rick Rubin did this to give the album a more "live" feel.

Been a Metallica fan since 2003 and enjoy all of their work except for St. Anger. ...And Justice For All is my favorite album, with Master Of Puppets and Black close behind.

I was able to watch the HOF ceremony last weekend (who knew I had Fuse?) and I was really impressed, so many cool moments. I must admit, when I heard that Fles was giving the induction speech, I wasn't really thrilled. Boy, did he prove me wrong. His speech was moving and simply awesome.

I'm a longtime fan going back to the 80's and seeing Cliff's parents was also very touching.
