Batman '89 The Michael Keaton Appreciation Thread

Keep discussion of anyone other than Michael Keaton OUT of this thread, please.

Great thread! Keaton is and always will be Batman to me. I'm a huge 1989 Batman fan so with my first post I'd like to contribute a few pics of my '89 Batman 12'' figures.

Wow. That looks great.

Thanks dude! I'm really proud of these customs.

I saw Batman in the theater when I was 13 and it's stuck with me ever since as the definitive Batman film.
My favorite Keaton Batman scene is when he's in Vale's apartment and confronts Joker and says "You wanna get nuts? Come on, let's get nuts!".

They're awesome!

I love the smeared face paint Joker.

Ok, niow I can't eat or skleep knowing those figures are somewhere in the world other than in my room. :waa:

Congratulations for your collection man.

Yes very awesome I now desperately want that flugelheim museum Joker figure especially. The Batman figure in the first pic is also tremendously cool.

awesome! I've got a penguin vinyl model on the way myself. I can't wait to put it together!

I'd love to have a Nicholson and Ledger Joker right next to each other on my shelf. I will someday!!!

Do Joker really love Star Wars?!? :p

But seriously, those sculpts are incredible. You ought to do few others. Like Kilmer's Batman, Bale, Ledger's Joker, etc.

Yes, Jack is a huge SW fan.:woot:

I didn't sculpt these. I wish I could do that but I didn't. The only customizing I did to these figs is paint the batsymbol, put a black wash on his belt and touch his eyes up.

I dyed Joker's tie and hanky a little darker and I custom made his wide brimmed hat.

Geez, that a lot of hats. I guess that is a good way to show Joker as a "realistic" character. Seeing as he couldn't have the same hat everytime he is wearing one. ;)

Those were all for other people who already own a Nicholson Joker. They, including myself, were really disappointed with the hat that originally came with the figure.

This is the original hat on the V2 Joker sculpt:

I agree,Keaton is Batman, and he always will be to me!!!
When he talks like Batman,he doesn't sound like Wayne and vice versa.
He never ever sounded silly because of the tone of his voice while talking as Batman, and he also looks good as Batman IMO.

:woot:

seeing these figures, i actually am remembering Jack..... i think he may be a better Joker than this Heath Ledger.... i think he may be very badass, but Jack is iconic

89 Batman ROCKS! Keaton sounded great as Batman. He had the crazyness that Batman should have and that suit was the best Batsuit ever made.

And to think I treated those figures like crap when I was a kid:csad:

Keaton is my favourite Batman, without a doubt. Bale runs him close but my adolescent years coincided with Batman 89 and Batman Returns and Keaton is the first portaryal of Batman I witnessed. And as far as I'm concerned it is the definitive portrayal.

Keaton and Burton seem to produce something immensly special every time they callaborate. I'd love to see another callaboration between the two.

Micheal Keaton will always be the best actor to play the Dark Knight. He had the look, the voice and the presence. Michael said it himself. "I'm Batman"

Keaton was cool as Beetlejuice,it's interesting how he played him before Batman.

I always loved Keaton as Batman, he did a great job.
