The most anticipated villian.

I'm just saying it's weird. Kingpin's always been a poor man's Lex Luthor.

I agree, the movie version seemed nothing like the Kingpin we all know and love, overall, I didn't think Daredevil was good at all. And I didn't think highly of the Elektra movie.

I agree also, the DD film just wasn't anything to scream home about, hell, it's a rather forgettable movie. However, interestingly enough people, keep banging on about how awesome DD the DC is and granted, I havn't seen the DC, I fail to see how it could be a substantial improvement over the TR.

Exact same experience for me. The film spent so much time dealing with Elektra and Daredevil (depicted as a low-grade Spider-Man) that the only good part of the film ended up being the fight between Matt and the Kingpin, which even then was not choreographed well. I walked out of the movie theater with the most disappointment I had up until then with any of the new Marvel films (topped by the first Fantastic Four and Elektra later). Unless MSJ finally sits down and decides he's going to make a storyline for a sequel that makes up for the confusingly bad ideas in Daredevil I think it needs new direction and a storyline following 'Born Again'.

Well for one there's an actual PLOT instead of just the random events that was pasted together for the TR. :p A few snips and turns around the right places and over 30 minutes of new footage will do that. Flesh out the characters more so certain scenes make more sense and more brutal fight scenes.

And please, Kingpin is NOT a poor man's Lex Luthor. He has never even attempted the zaney plans that Lex has. He is a very realistic criminal who worked hard to get where he is and is unbelievably intelligent for a non-scientist street criminal. I don't see him making giant robots trying to rob banks or dig to the center of the earth or something.

LOL, definitely watch the superior DC. It shows more of Matt's struggle under the pressures of being a superhero for a city that doesn't want him *all the stuff raimi didn't bother doing* and thought it still includes the ******ed playground battle, it's a solid film that doesn't in my mind, make any huge errors. What might have benefited it though was to make Matt's sidekick friend less of a pointless +1 guy. He's the Rachael Dawes of Daredevil more than Elektra imo. imo. imo. imooooooooooooooooooo

This thread has turned into a DD thread...

That's my perception of him. I've never known kingpin to be on the level of lex luthor, at least on the mainstream popularity scale. And he kinda resembles lex, being bald and a ceo.

I don't know what you saw, but I saw a suave, rather chunky, businessman smoking a cigar who was physically powerful enough to get scrappy and fight the hero if he wanted to. That's all I've ever known of kingpin so if there's something they missed in the film beyond skin color, I didn't see it.
See now this I can agree with.

But I guess on the surface I can see where you're coming from. Two rich bald criminals. I think that's where the comparison ends though.

I agree, Vis.

Having the whole Connors/Lizard angle be the main focus of the story. And if you wanted, Kraven can be set-up to hunt down the Lizard. But I also think Electro could workout just fine for SM-4 as well.

It's all a matter of time now.
Lizard as a main Villian is a must. but Electro has a second villian in SM4 could work although I would like to see a different type of villian such as maybe the return of Doc Ock. I wouldn't mind seeing Kraven as well who could defenitley be trying to hunt down the Lizard as you said. there are some interesting storyline's they can use with most of the classic villian's such as Scorpain who I wouldn't mind seeing portrayed on film.

It wasn't as if this thread was going anyplace to begin with...

heh, heh, things will kick up once this movie's out. Then this place will be the twilight zone...

oh, it'll be a fine sight, that's for sure.

Threads dropping faster than tons of lake water over Niagra... It'll be one heck of a show for the ages, comrades.

Ready your poptarts and eat hearty, for on May 4th, the super hero hype DINES IN HELL!
