The above argument seems to have a knack for continually arising in the Strongest in the MU thread, so I thought why not just start a new thread dedicated to just that topic?

Vote. Debate. Have fun. :yay:

Anyone who didn't vote Living Tribunal is wrong.

There is not much of a deabate here. The Living Tribunal is the representative of the One above all (the writers) and therefore has no limit to his powers. The only other character would be the beyonder (pre-retconn) and Thanos (with the heart of the Universe but I am not quite sure about this one)

Apart from the Beyonder bit this dude seems spot on. I never thought that the original Beyonder could take LT.

Pre-retconn Beyonder told the Living Tribunal to leave him alone and seemed more powerful.

This was in Secret War II.

Living Tribunal seems about right but if LT and Eternity were on par, and if Dormamu and Umar beat him back in Defenders: Indefensible....

LT and Eternity are not on par as far as I know...

No, they're not. The Living Tribunal is vastly more powerful. His word is literally universal law.

I picked Mephisto. If his actions can get me to swear off Spider-Man comics then he must be the most powerful being in the MU.

The Living Tribunal could eat the Beyonder for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and kwanza if he wanted.

That just means he's got a small stomach what with all the Beyonder leftovers. ;)

Beyond: Leave me alone, Tribunal.
Tribunal: GET IN MA BELLY!!!!

Anyway this is what I get for the most powerful:

Tier 1: The One Above All
Tier 2: The Living Tribunal
Tier 3: The Beyonder, Eternity, Infinity, Death, Oblivion etc.
Tier 4: Galactus, Abraxas, Mephisto, Nightmare
Tier 5: Everyone else with straight 7 power ratings in the handbook.

I wonder if cold Beyonder is just as good as warm Beyonder.

You forgot the Celestials.

They've pretty consistently ranked higher than Galactus. I don't know where they are in relation to Eternity and those dudes. Probably less powerful, but Eternity's been made to look like a *****, too.

So maybe they're in between 3 and 4? Thus creating a new #4?

I was thinking Mephisto b/c he's so good at deceiving people. He gets w/e he wants.

The Living Tribunal takes dumps more powerful than the Beyonder.

LT generally inhabits the space between universes, so does he count as IN the MU?
