Avi Arad is excited for that rumor. The messier and the more Venoms and Carnages and villains and all that is right up his alley.

As for Joker 2...there's nothing wrong with deciding to up the budget after a successful first entry but they really let the budget get out of control by increasing it by nearly 300% of the previous one.

I’ll still see Spider-Man 4, but I won’t be nearly as hyped if true.

The parallels to pro-wrestling are here too where they'd bring in aging stars to give the current product a boost.

Old RDJ
Old Jackman
Old Stewart
Old Grammer
Old Garfield
Old Maguire
Old Snipes

old characters/actors = way more money
new/young characters = way less money

Can't blame it all on the studios when the audiences just haven't been turning out for the new stuff, particularly Gen Alpha are perhaps less into superheroes (and scripted entertainment in general) than previous generations.

You can always tell a studio hit piece because they attack where the director was on opening weekend. Same thing happened with The Marvels director.

Peculiar airing of dirty laundry through sources talking to Hollywood media’s biggest trades is nothing new or unique to Disney and Marvel, but the practice continued even after The Marvels came out. A few weeks later, The Hollywood Reporter published a piece salaciously framed as accusing DaCosta of having “bailed out” on a cast-and-crew screening of The Marvels, only to reveal in its own reporting that DaCosta had not only not been invited to the screening, but her absence from it was because she was celebrating her birthday on the same day. The piece likewise sparked around of criticism, and a response from DaCosta’s representatives, who told THR “it would be quite disrespectful and upsetting to suggest Nia has anything other than adoration for her creative team.”

What is Sony's obsession with symbiotes and multiverses?

$$$$$

NWH and Venom made bank. Yeah, they are going to try to combine them to make even more money. And really, you see it in the comics as well. There always seems to be a new Spider-verse going on (or Venom-verse). Venom is practically doing a massive event every other year, with a ton of symbiote spinoffs. You don't want to know how many active symbiotes there currently are.

Though I give the current Venom War even props for setting it up as a wrestling event.

So basically this is going to eventually be the nWo with old guys past their prime paired with the Scott Nortons of the world.

It is like turning on Dynamite on Wednesdays and seeing all the youngsters on it like Chris Jericho, Edge, Christian Cage, Jeff Jarrett, Billy Gunn, Dustin Rhodes, and Sting.

Speaking of making bank, you guys are haters.

Look how full my 7pm showing of Joker 2 is:

Packed from wall to wall!! Deadpool & Wolverine, be afraid! :o

Overpriced popcorn anyone?
Hope you enjoy…the popcorn at least. :cwink:

This film is going to be gone from cinemas very soon at this rate.

Sounds like our ol pal Todd knew exactly what was coming, can’t say I blame the guy

Hopefully there was no immediate internet access

So, my friends, what happens to Harley Quinn on film now? The character has had such a up and down history at the box office so far with no film being a clear winner.

Suicide Squad: Made a lot of money but critically destroyed. Also, I feel like the general audience kind of hate watched this movie because i dont know anyone in real life that actually calls this a "good" movie.

Birds of Prey: Much better with critics but audiences kind of scracthed their heads at it and it flopped.

The Suicide Squad: MUCH higher critical and fan reception but i do not think general audiences knew what the Heck this movie was and it absolutely tanked (and yes, covid was a factor). I think the movie was just too weird and niche for general audiences to want to see honestly.

Folie a Deuces: Everyone and their mother just straight up spit this out.

So what does WBD do with this character going forward? I DO believe the general audience is waiting for a GREAT movie starring Harley Quinn that hits the four quadrants but they just cant crack the code.
If Green Lantern is precedent: no solo film, maybe a TV show and then anything on film will be crossovers or guest appearances in someone else's movie. Same way I would not be surprised if we do not get another Flash movie (whether it be Wally or Barry) and just see him dropped into a Justice League movie or something.
