I actually think that Reynolds is essential for Deadpool, HOWEVER you would think that with all the other sources of income Reynolds has between the gin company, cell phone service and being co-owner of a championship winning soccer football team he'd be humble enough to accept SAG minimum for playing the role.

I think Deadpool and Evans-Cap or Deadpool and Any Spidey or Deadpool and Cox-Daredevil & Bernthal Punisher would all have been massive. I think Jackman has huge appeal but not anything like RDJ Stark, and Reynolds has the higher leverage as his films are a unique take-the-utter-piss vehicle that a whole range of things can be thrown into. That could change if Jackman outperforms in a huge ensemble MCU event film though, where Deadpool is less suited to being a lead.

Ugh, i just had an unsettling realization. This catastrophic year for Lionsgate means they are most most definitely going to dig up John Wick’s corpse and make a fifth sequel with him back from the dead. Keanu’s gonna be playing him til hes 90.

Downey probably did ask for Latveria before being told it wasn't a real country. Feige had to send out an urgent pager, are there any other countries available, quick? In the end RDJ settled for 15 average sized islands for that portion of his pay package.

Oh, Proyas is actually working on some kind of AI-generated monstrosity of a "film." Yeah, sorry, Alex, I'll have to go with the terrible new The Crow this time

Like, if the movie's marketing was operating on a "Forget what you've seen before and what you know, THIS is the real Crow!" campaign then I'd totally get why he'd be badmouthing it but since marketing for this was so minimal that most people didn't seem to know it existed it comes across as punching down. This is also the fourth time the franchise has been rebooted so what's the point anyway?

More than likely. Also, when you consider RDJ's salary, along with the overall cost of the movie, it'll need more than a billion dollars to make a profit, probably.

It just keeps going up. Even if you assume that number is for both movies, its insane.

It would be hilarious if, after all their gimmicks to make monster box office, oops, China has a pique of disagreement, and bans these Avengers movies. (Sorry Simu Liu, don't think you are making the cut for the Avengers films)

Toss, in maybe, Johansson and Larson. And with the Russo's payday? You are looking at over $100 million upfront JUST for talent. Frankly, I would kill for the real accounting of these movies.

Dear God, I didn't even think about Johansson. If she comes back in any capacity, and I'm guessing she will, I wouldn't be surprised if she got a slightly higher cut than Evans and Hemsworth after the whole Disney+ Black Widow fiasco.

Hmm, if it’s the combined total for both movies then that would make it a fair bit less outrageous IMO. If he was coming back as Stark and was reported to be getting a $50m salary and $50m expected back end (got that amount for Endgame right?) for one film I wouldn’t be anywhere near as shocked. Would still be way too much for RDJ as Doom though. And for one movie the $100m plus $100m is absolutely ridiculous.

I don’t know how the process works, but if Marvel are allowed to have dialogue with China ahead of time to know what they need to do to get it through I’m sure they will. It’s too much of a big risk given how high this film’s budget is going to be.

$100m for talent without including RDJ you mean? Going to be the most expensive film ever! I think you’re right about SW needing in the region of $2B. Standard Avengers numbers isn’t going to cut it.

I have to imagine they all recognize that without RDJ, the MCU wouldn't have gotten as far as it did so I don't think they would ever expect to be paid as much as him. As to whether they think he's getting paid too much, that's a different story.
