This GIF is kinda Avvy worthy.

Just to be clear, I will probably end up seeing the movie.

That being said, I didn't like the trailer at all. And it's not because I'm against an all-female main cast for this film. I think I'm more against just the idea of a Ghostbusters reboot.

None of the jokes were really funny, and the Leslie Jones stuff in particular was just bad.

Trailer was alright. I will see this if only for nostalgia. And yes, Kate Mckinnon too.

I've watched it a few times and I'm sure unsure I want to give it a go and I will but somethings not right

I have never been a fan of this teams past movies some knew what style to expect the best way I can explain myself is it seems like the force awaken all new characters but everything seems beat for beat a repeat of the first film with some of the charm removed

And before someone says it's got sfa to do with it being all women, I don't give a **** if it's all men, all women, a bloke two women and a monkey it's the style of humour and the actors that sink it for me. I really wanna be proven wrong and it's great so I guess it's more wait and see.

Leslie Jones is there to cater to the sassy black women demographic I feel like. "The devil is a lie!"

All 4 women are hysterical so it has that going for it at least.

As someone who wanted more out of The Force Awakens than what we got, I didn't get a similar vibe to that movie from this GB film AT ALL. Yes, there are nods and a retread or two present in the trailer for GB, but, unlike with TFA, I get the feeling that the people behind this new GB film understand the balance between "tipping the hat" and making things feel organic and new and aren't just trying to recapture what they themselves think the franchise is about.

I think the issue is that Ghostbusters is ingrained in the minds of us that grew up watching it in that era, the original cartoon series, etc. Stuff like XGB, the IDW comics....those get a pass I think because they're in continuity and kind of are acknowledging everything that came before did indeed happen. We live in the past, but that is the life of a geek. :csad:

I've never seen so many dislikes for a trailer before. :hehe:

I've actually had to watch this 3 times to be sure I wasn't missing something. Kate McKinnon is the only one who comes across as having any sort of personality and the jokes were as flat as pancake. I've also never seen a youtube trailer get so many thumbs down before, and now apparently people are saying Sony is deleting negative comments on the video. This trailer is a disaster.

I like the trailer. The last thing that I want is a safe retread in similar manner to SW The Force Awaken which was in hindsight rather boring to me.

Here's the thing --it's near impossible to recapture the soul films of the 1980s. It's better to divorce from the 1980s mindset when doing a remake or sequel/prequel. It'll either work spectacularly or flop badly.

I really wanna give this movie a chance but that was a bad trailer I like the look of the ghosts and Kate McKinnon and that's about it

Collider is talking about it now. They didn't like it that much, and are kinda confused about who it's supposed to appeal to.

well im sure some of them are from ******** "why did it have to be all women" ACTUAL sexists

But then again I'm sure a decent amount are from people who genuinely disliked what they saw. Reception around Twitter/other sites is below average at best

Thing is I don't get is when someone like Kristian says this might appeal to people who haven't seen the original. Who the hell hasn't seen the original?

5 times the new 'Ghostbusters' trailer destroyed the patriarchy

Hollywood's over reliance on nostalgia is going to eventually result in a big name casualty. This could very well be it. :(

I've been a fan of Ghostbusters since I was a child and I love the new trailer. I'm a fan of Paul Feig's films, I love the cast, and the humor they featured worked for me, so I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm indifferent after seeing the trailer. IMO it looks like every other sony studios movie.

It still looks like a Spider-man movie in disguise. They even go to time square at one point for a battle

I dunno the effects were clean but like the shot with Wiig where the ghost in stripes walks past just looked cartoony to me. Guess I was hoping for more dark and scary ghosts and less bright and shiny.

Also what's with the call back to the events of 30 years ago if that never happened in this timeline?

The Collider guys made a good point that the trailer started to make it seem like it's a continuation, then the rest of the trailer the footage made it seem like it's a total reboot.

Seems like they're banking on nostalgia/confusion.

Reading more in here somebody made reference to the Scooby Doo movie for visuals have to admit it does remind me of that somehow.
