With respect to this opinion, I'm more annoyed she's literally this movie's Winston. She's the 4th Ghostbuster, who admittedly seems like she might show up earlier than he does, but she's s the streetwise
African-American character who isn't a scientist but can pull her own weight. If it'd been switched out with another actress in this role, it might've been ok, but in this case, it feels like completely lazy writing.
Kate McKinnon's role as the "technological explainer" in this movie might get her noticed by a lot of casting directors for more science-fiction/superhero movies in the future, not necessarily comedy ones either.

It isn't based on gut feeling. It's kinda obvious.
When people aren't interested in something/there's nothing more complicated going on emotionally, they don't talk about it continuously for months.
Me: Hey, you like that girl?
You: No.
That's it. That's how guys work.
I'm not saying these guys hate women, but in the case of Ghostbusters it's bringing up an ugly side of their emotions towards women.
It's not just Jones though. They did it with the whole team. You can clearly tell:
Kristen Wiig - Venkman (leader, brunette)
Melissa McCarthy - Ray (partner, heavy set)
Kate McKinnon - Egon (smart one, socially awkward)
Leslie Jones - Winston (outsider, not a scientist, black)
McKinnon is definitely Egon like, but also very Venkman like. She is much more hip and in touch than Egon. Wiig is NOTHING like Venkman. McCarthy is very different that Ray Stanz as well.
Chris Nolan's vest just got a little static-y.
Wigg is barely present...
Is that how he conveys emotion?
No, it is based on gut feeling. You're assuming it got to do with women when it could merely be due to something else, like it looking awful.
I'm sorry, but you don't know what's going on in someone's head unless they explicitly say something to confirm your suspicions
The supposed "fan" embargo was supposed to be lifted today, yet I can't find anything.
I've seen the test screening cut of the movie. I'm giving you my input as someone that has seen the film. After the 15th if you still disagree then you will be doing so with all the info.Ehhhh. Agree to disagree.
You know... I don't want this movie to be a flop, just because of all the people involved. I never want a project to fail.
Having said that, I do want this to be like a wake up call to studios to stop messing with beloved old properties.

The issue is turning a beloved old property into a propaganda statement.
