Deleting comments that disagree with you or call you out is one of the most cowardly things you can do.
if its true that he bans people who doent agree with him he is pathetic. who wants to have his comment section only positive?

The thing I don't get is why is this movie in particular being treated like the anti christ of all films. There are countless remakes, sequels and reboots of far better films than the OG GB that are shockingly terrible and people barely make a noise.

I have been on dork forums for a long time now and before this movie was announced people didn't talk about GB like it was the greatest thing on earth, sure people were excited for an original cast sequel but it was just casual conversations like any other movie.

I haven't seen hate for a film this much in what seems like forever.

I think there's a very simple reason for it - Ghostbusters is one remake too many.

Are we talking about Faraci or Sony on his youtube channel? :hehe:

Well, probably not Sony. They clearly love all the negative sexist comments. Without them, barely anyone would even talk about the reboot.

So one video review from Wreckless Eating on youtube is up. I'd post a link but it's got some naughty language and we know how the Hype is like with offending the kiddies. Basically in his video he says it's awful and at worst is negative towards men.

How they defeat the giant ghost... Is that for real?

I don't know what the rumoured ending was so I can't confirm.

According to that, the loud black woman Leslie is a thing across the whole movie, not just the trailers as was reported sometimes

We'll have to wait for more reviews before we know more. It is strange though after the screenings there was almost zero twitter responses. Normally there's some type of twitter activity but I only saw a hand full of messages, even in the form of things like emoji's.

based on that review this movie is everything I knew it would be.

If it is true it's a big departure from the test screening. Yes, that was an element of it, but Wiig and McCarthy jumped in the portal to close it from the other side and that was what defeated Rowan and sucked all the spooks back through.

If the reviewer wasn't full of ****, I really dislike what he said about the final battle.

It's exactly what I feared, when they showed the knuckle duster, pistols and ghost shipper. So the Movie does establish that the Proton beam as to hold a ghost in place, so they can capture in it a trap. Then they throw that rule out of the window for the final battle, and the 4 Ghostbusters just fight their way through the Ghosts, "killing" them.

I think the devisiveness of reviews that will be coming out will be based on what people focus on and what they are predisposed to like or dislike.

They are not really "killing" them. There are just too many to trap. They are holding back an army of ghosts and trying to get through to fight Rowan.

Someone made a recap of the review, nothing super spoilery, tagged just in case

I am guessing 50+% on RT. I figure a few reviewers will want to be "see sexist males, you were wrong, this is a good movie."

What were those films up against?

Spy's second weekend was when Jurassic World opened. When it dropped 28% in week 3 Inside Out opened.

The Heats second weekend was The Lone Ranger & Despicable Me 2. The third weekend was Grown Ups 2 & Pacific Rim.

Bridesmaids had to deal with Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in week 2 & The Hangover Part II & Kung Fu Panda 2 in week 3.

It'll need more than just a few reviewers playing the anti-misogyny card to get the RT rating over 50%.

Considering I've been following WrecklessEating for a few years, I believe he's not full of it. And it's sadly everything I was hoping it wouldn't be. Expectations are lowered accordingly now.

I'm guessing most of the mainstream media, or top reviewers would say something like "despite solid performances and visuals, the plot plays as a generic comedy adventure" and give it a mixed scorie (the safe way to say "it's crap but I can't say the all female movie is crap, and I ca't say it's good either cause is critic suicide"")

They wrote themselves into a bad scenario then. Usually it always takes a coordinated effort to first hold a Ghost in place, then trap it. And that's with Proton packs that already pack a punch. And that's against a handful of Ghosts at most. Then they begin to fight an army of Ghosts, and suddenly a knuckle duster and a pair of small proton pistols are apparently more than enough to seriously hurt them? What makes that weaponry any different from their regular Proton packs? They use the same energy, do they not?

Fighting the logo ghost by shooting it in the crotch was shown in the tv spot.

And that was awful.

And I thought it'd be a one off. But no. Apparently all 4 Ghostbusters blast him in the dick together to defeat him.
