Storm's power to control the weather, is it just her commanding the weather or is it an extension of herself? meaning if she were to summon a bolt of lightning would it come from the sky or projected from her hands?

As I understand it, she manipulates the weather. So she'd need to call it down from the sky.

She has done it both ways. She generates energy that interacts with the energy that powers and controls the weather. She is limited in the amount of change she can produce both by the energy that her mutant power produces and the stress that it puts on her body. She can call the lightning down from the sky or pull energy through her link and manifest it as lightning from her hands.

It depends on whether or not the writer and or artist is a dumb ass.

Depends on magnitude.

IMHO Manipulating "The Weather" is a lot more than calling down a bolt of lightning. Ororo Monroe can see weather potentials as patterns of Energy and she can manipulate that at will.
So - if she just wants to knock someone on their azz,.. she can point a hand at them and create a Positive charge at her target, and a negative charge around her hand while keeping her hand positively charged,.. goose it,.. and "instant" Lightning bolt.

If she wants to destroy a building,.. or knock the Hulk on his azz - she uses the entire sky to make that positive charge,...

Based on Feats,... Storm is definetly an "Omega" Mutant who spends most of her time keeping it cranked down for the benifit of things around her.
What I'd like to know:
Does she have cousins or aunts, Uncles on the African side?

I know her family showed up to her wedding but outside of her grandparents, specific relationships werent detailed

Yeah she can control cosmic storms even though they have absolutely nothing in common with the weather.

???
"The Weather?"

So,... there is no "weather" in Space?

.............................................................Okay.

2. SPACE WEATHER DEFINED (TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM VULNERABILITIES TO SPACE-WEATHER EVENTS

What is space weather? The US Department of Defense, in its implementation plan (OSD,
2000), indicates, “Space weather refers to adverse conditions on the sun, the solar wind, and in the
earth’s magnetosphere, the ionosphere, and the thermosphere.” Indeed this definition portrays those
aspects of space weather that are generally of most concern, namely the more pathological elements.
But space weather, and ionospheric weather, in particular, can be turbulent or benign. All aspects of
space weather should be included in the definition. Indeed, from a telecommunications perspective, it
can be safely stated that quiet conditions are not always good and disturbed conditions are not always
bad. The National Space Weather Program (NSWP, 1995) has defined space weather as
representing “conditions on the sun and in the solar wind, magnetosphere, ionosphere, and
thermosphere that can influence the performance and reliability of space-borne and ground-based
technological systems.” This definition is more appropriate. On the NOAA/SEC web site, it is indicated
“Space Weather describes the conditions in space that effect Earth and its technological systems.” It goes on to say, “Space Weather is a consequence of the behavior of the sun, the nature of Earth’s
magnetic field and atmosphere, and our location in the solar system”. We like this definition as well.

All that to say: that if her powers are all about manipulating patterns of energy that she can see,... that would mean that the same solar wind she see's on earth,.. she'd see in space.,... etc,...

does Daken have the adamantium or not? two artists this same month are drawing his claws differently.

Isn't his palm claw encased in whatever metal that red sword is made of that negates healing factors? I don't read any of the Wolverine titles but I thought I saw that on a glimpse through an issue.

Since the porn industry is a billion dollar industry, how much is the comic industry bringing in a year?

Marvel and all of its assets just sold to Disney for $4 billion, so I imagine their income from comics alone is much less. Probably in the millions somewhere. The low millions.

.............................................................Okay.

I didn't say that did I? I said the forces in space were completely different and unrelated to the weather here on earth. The earth is a semi fixed system of factors, cosmic storms and such are vastly different with only gravational forces being somewhat similiar in nature as a factor in the weather here on earth. Now please disregard what I said, pretend I said something completely different and then rebute that, it amuses me.

(cheerfully)

If thats what you want/need.

It's what I expect. Though I take it you do realize the factors in cosmic storms are vastly and fundamentally different from the weather here on earth. Just cause it's called a cosmic storm doesn't mean it's in any way equatable to the weather here on earth.

I don't mind so much, it's just a case of writers not doing their homework or knowing the facts but needing to make storm a viable player in space and using an easy out.
