I'm Not Messing Around, I'm Doing Important Stuff in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

I'm happy to see Wonder Woman getting another film but I'm dreading the horny fancasting.

*all Wonder Wonder fans on this forum right now*

*my reaction to them them not harping on James Gunn anymore to make a Wonder Woman film*

*me realizing Wonder Woman fans on this board will be asking who the writer, director and cast is going to be for the next few months*

Arjona and Gunn follow each other on IG.

And she and Jason Momoa, who is playing Lobo in Supergirl, are dating.

Let's start with Superman. The film hits theaters this July 11, and when asked if he's already thinking of a sequel, Gunn replies, "What I'm working on is in some way…I mean, yes, yes, yes, yes. But is it a straight-up Superman sequel? I would not say necessarily."

Trinity or World’s Finest it is then!

Also, at this point, I am thinking the ticket sites intentionally had low resources ready for the CBM presales to generate news.

There's a new Ironheart trailer out there. It's as basic as it gets, I can't remember a damn thing 5 minutes after watching it. Still, the hate is entirely overblown and misguided to say the least.

It does just look very... milquetoast lol that latest trailer kinda leaning into her dealing with some occult science looking stuff is fun though.

Thorne was just at the BET Awards and she was very fun though. Had a lil skit moment where she sang and ****.

Okay, at the risk of sounding like a hater, I have to say that I'm not too hot about Clone Wars. I'm on season 4, and it's just SO self-serious, but also clearly a children's program at the same time. Also, I simply can't get past the idea that Ahsoka is supposed to be Anakin's padawan in the canon. It's just so nonsensical in context with the prequels. Supplemental material doesn't have to be canonized for reasons exactly like this. I guess I'm extra salty since Filoni keeps dragging this **** into recent Star Wars, and there's a lot more to come.

You do realize the reason that Clone Wars is canon is mainly because of George, right? George was a bit part of it for the first 6 seasons. And yes, Filoni did fall in love with some of the stuff George forced on him. But Ahsoka and Maul returning are all because of George. Rebels and Season 7 are pure Filoni.

I didn't know that, but I'm not surprised. It's even funnier that Clone Wars doesn't really fit with the prequels if George was personally involved. Anakin's characterization alone is essentially an entirely different person.

The great war between George fans and Karen Traviss Fandalorians was kind of hilarious to watch.

This seems like a larger rabbit hole I could indulge in, but by a quick glance, Traviss has an interesting take on Star Wars. Her thinking seems to be reflected in some Disney Star Wars projects, like The Acolyte and The Last Jedi, particularly contested entries in the franchise.

I think the whole news cycle of "__________ movie's ticket sales break sites" is a load of baloney. These tickets sites just don't have the usage needs to put resources into handling that initial wave of heavy traffic of super fandoms. Like yeah, no **** a computer that usually only handles 30 requests a day is going to have issues handling 300 requests in 10 minutes.
