For Asa's most recent film, Ten Thousand Saints. Someone else linked it here a page or two back and that's what started the conversation about his voice as Spider-Man.

I don't know if this changes your mind on that matter at all, but it's what I based my thoughts today on.

Fair enough! :) It was just the general impression that I was getting from your posts lately. No harm, no fowl! :highfive:

Ok thanks for the link. It's not too bad in there, but still doesn't sound as if it has very much energy or enthusiasm. I think Spidey needs to speak a little higher up than Asa is doing there in order to sound more energetic about life and pull off those motor mouth quips.

I've never had a problem with his acting, because we all know he can do drama very well. It's the more humorous side of him that is a huge question mark, and is definitely not the same as saying that Michael Keaton (known for his comedy) could be more dramatic as Batman, because it doesn't always work the other way round going from drama to comedy compared to going from comedy to drama, as I've explained before.

By Zero Brien or Isaac?

Why do you want Asa to sound camp as well?

Cool, glad you liked that a bit more!

I made the comparison to Keaton more as both an inverse of the scenario (serious actor potentially being capable of doing comedy) and in the sense that both actors would likely have a similar approach to their characters, being perhaps a bit unconventional or idiosyncratic in their takes.

Keaton's probably my favorite actor to play Batman so far, but he went about it pretty differently than anyone else has. He never really goes for an outright exact imitation of the character and instead plays his own interpretation of the character and perceives him in a rather unique way. Keaton's comedic skills, for example, come into play with how he plays Bruce Wayne and portrays him as an off-beat, somewhat odd and insecure man who you'd never suspect of being Batman.

Ernesth I feel your pain. I was so hoping to have something this week. But now earliest we might hear something is tues.

Personally I said it before I would rather have someone of Jim Carrey or Robin Williams type great with comedy. And could pull dramatic when needed. Or at least in character be a cross between chandler from friends ted and barney from how I met your mother.

Doubtful since it's the holiday and most news outlets won't be reporting things then.

No problem man. Ya if anything maybe it could hit 11 pm or midnight like marvel deal. But when it happens it likely be between noon to 5pm range. On what ever day it does drop. Most big news tend to land between those hours.

Does anyone have a vid of Tom doing an american accent?

He hasn't been in a movie where he's needed one yet. Although he probably could have in The Impossible. Too bad they pushed In the Heart of the Sea back, it was supposed to come out in March.

The good news is that they pushed it into the holiday movie season.
They did it to increase the films chances of being nominated for an Oscar, its all Good.

The look, the voice, he's absolutely perfect

Can't believe it wasn't announced months ago it's him

(btw that movie doesn't look half bad, might have to check out the 1st one)
agreed, man. as i've said a dozen times, conditions aside, o'brien is hands down the BEST man for the job.

I saw. :) I definitely think Asa would slay in the role if we do end up going through the Symbiote arc in the sequel films. He's terrific with the darker, more dramatic type of material that would come into play with the Symbiote suit.
 Asa could definitely pull it off and give us the definitive Symbiotic Pete Parker.

Really hope Peter picks up the Blacksuit in Infinity War.

The black suit Spider-Man is really uninteresting to me. I'd rather he got and lost the suit in a seperate Venom movie, or perhaps get and then lose the suit in Infinity War, and then have Brock / Flash / whoever pick it up in a Venom movie.

News isn't dropped over the weekend and nothing is going to drop on a bank holiday. I think it's June at the earliest we hear anything.

Im really losing my patience for the announcment. Not expecting it until June if the reports are correct and spidey will be on set in june unless marvel want some crappy quality leaks of the actor on set

It makes sense to make the announcement either the day before or a couple days before the actor is on the set.

I noticed someones added Asa to the IMDB page for Spider-Man reboot. lol. (Unless thats been there for a while)

I doubt it be june we still have a week left in may it can happen between tues and fri of next week. But then again it's all about when in june is the actor on set and how long he is shooting for. If he starts firdt or second week we have to have the news I expect by end of next week. If he doesn't start to 3rd or 4th week. Maybe then hold off to first week of june. But we still don't have a clear idea when and how long the actor will be shooting.

Mai we talked about this yesterday. Imdb is a user edited site. And is not reliable on casting news Untill official word is out and it's corrected. Heck rosemary harris for sm3 was listed as aunt carnage for awhile. And hell actress who played captain Janeway was listed as captain Janeway on one of the 2000s eras power rangers series page.

Yeah I think someones jumped the gun a bit (with updating it), I was just stating I've only just noticed :yay:

Ya happens all the time. Movie and show pages on there are only right once said movie or show is out. Or that we have official news from the studios themselfs.

I know the issue of trying to fix imdb. Had trouble my self getting a few things added or corrected on a page there.

You don't think it's possible for it to drop Tuesday through Thursday of next week? I agree with the rest and I wouldn't count on it happening before June, but there is a whole week before June 1.

I doubt Kevin Feige would want to waste the Symbiote arc by having Peter get and then lose the suit all within the timespan of Infinity War. If Peter does get the suit, it's a safe bet that we'll see it carry over to the following solo film or two.

When does Ant Man come out?

What if Marvel kept it secret and the after credit scene is where they surprise us and reveal the actor playing Pete. Maybe all of Spidey's scenes filmed for Civil War before Ant Man comes out will be on a closed set, so they are not afraid of leaks.

Just a thought.

That's a possibility, but it'd be a very tough one for Marvel and Sony to actually pull off. The actor would need to be dead silent about their location for at least a month and need to avoid being seen by the public, paparazzi and spy photographers. Especially since it looks like we're almost definitely getting either Asa or Tom in the role.

There's also the fact that the crew on set and possible extras or small-time actors that would be involved in scenes with Peter would need to be absolutely silenced too.

Which is probably why Marvel & Sony will announce the actor as soon as he's on set. It's not worth it.
