I wouldn't be against him. I just have a few concerns if he was picked. Like can he handle humor. Can he add any muscle to self and a few other things.

#1 Any person on the planet can add muscle if they do something called exercise.

#2 Actors prepare and train for roles before filming or(I assume) even auditioning. Which means he(and any other actor) has plenty of time to prepare to be a wise cracking yet genius Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Apologies if #1 comes off sounding a bit rude.

The concept that no one seems to be able to grasp.

The Spider-Man in Civil War is probably going to be NEW.. as in a few weeks new.

Asa could start and be just as skinny as he is right now, he would look great with an Ultimate like costume like the picture of the cosplay I've posted. I'd like to see him or whoever gets the role to follow a very similar diet and preparation that Andrew Garfield went through. The goal should always be muscular like Bruce Lee, and not muscular like Henry Cavill or Chris Evans.

Ernesth I brought this up earlier. There is certain type of body frame like slim small frame folks. Who natural body frame doesn't grow muscle mass well. And looking at type of frame asa has. I really can't see him being able to bulk up much. And we would always have a small frame slim spidey out of him. Vs someone like Logan or Dylan who have more bulk already and can bulk up or slim down muscle aize. And I rather have a spidey body size like dylan has. I don't want mcu spidey look like a twig compared to cap and thor for example.

My personal preference is Dylan O' Brien. However, I would not be opposed to a younger actor provided they can pull it off. The muscle would be a difficult factor though, but isn't so important. What's important is their ability to not only play Peter Parker/Spider-Man, but to BE Peter. They must embody the role in a way that RDJ, Evans, Pratt... everybody in the MCU has.

I too would like Dylan. But Asa would be a great choice as well. Plus in his defense. Compared to the Asgardian God Thor and Super Soldier Serum Injected Captain America, the Iron Man suit, and the giant green 7 foot tall rage monster Hulk. Spider-Man is a shrimp.Whether they cast Dylan or Asa.

They'd have to cast someone of a build like John Cena for him not to seem like a shrimp standing next to Hemsworth

Asa would be pretty awesome too! Definitely one of the better younger actor choices I've seen thrown around. He could pull it off.

The day the announcement comes I'll just be sitting there finally coming out of my bomb shelter like

"It's over, thank the heavens it's over."

Like I said I just don't want my spidey to look so small compared to rest. I like to see him be a bit bulk like how 616 Pete is drawn. With someone like Asa my fear is he wouldn't get much bulk and if he was on role for like ten yrs he likely wouldn't get much change in size during that.

Even 616 Spider-Man is small compared to Thor and Cap. Spider-Man has muscle definition but not actual bulk like Cap or Thor. It's muscle to the point where he's visibly toned but not to the point where when he needs to be flexible it seems unrealistic. Imagine Thor performing all those flexible feats that Peter does.

The problem with that first one is that is considerably more difficult with a teen, compared to someone older.

I really don't want O Brien, but I was wondering, what with him and The Maze Runner being nominated so heavily over at the MTV movie awards, and Robert Downy Jr getting the Generation award, you think there will be some sort of announcment there? At one time, Viacom/Paramount who owns MTV, did do the distribution for the MCU until Disney bought them, so maybe they'd do something like this to help increase ratings for MTV?

Dylan is still my favorite choice. Pretty god actor, already got Spider-Man physic's body, young enough, strong personality.

As of Asa Butterfield, I simply can't see him playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man. There's something in his look, his baby serious face ... I don't know what, but nothing screams Pete to me. Something is off. It's just my opinion. Sorry guys!

Ahhhh when are you gonna announce the cast MARVEL!!
At the MTVAwards? ... Or at The Avengers Age of Ultron premiere ??
(Announce Dylan fricking O'Brien please!! :-P #Dylan4SpiderMan)

I reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy hope you're on to something there

I vote for someone without a hair that is the size of a giant comet!

Asa is my number one pick (by miles) but I have two concerns

1) Can he do an American accent?
Garfield grow up hearing American and so his American is flawless. Can Asa pull off the accent off someone from Queens?

2) Does he have comic timing?
I've now seen Asa in two movies (about to watch a third this week).
Haven't seen any humour or comic timing from him. That's not his fault as the roles didn't require him to be humorous.

I think Peter Parker should be a blend of Maguire and Garfield, or rather, the best bits of both actors.

What I liked about Maguire was he was a total nerd, he really sells the 'geek' and you can see him being bullied in school. He is also nerdy around women. It is the stereotypical nerd but I liked the performance. Highlight of Maguire's Peter Parker is when he catches MJ when she slips and can't answer when she says he has blue eyes.

But what I didn't like about Maguire's Peter Parker, Garfield had in SPADES. It is the devil may care attitude, the twinkle in the eye, the sense of mischief and the wise arse/smart alec attitude. You TOTALLY buy this PP would mess around with criminals as Spider-Man, would wise crack as Spider-Man, would be a total *****e as Spider-Man.
I didn't get that from Maguire at ALL. When Maguire wise cracked it was because that's what the scrip told him to do not because of what was in his character that he showed the entire time his costume was off (which was ALOT).

The problem is Garfield's PP was a little too sure of himself, a little too cool for school. I don't see Garfield's PP being picked on because the bullies would simply find easier prey.
Highlight of Garfield's Peter Parker, the humiliation of Flash Thompson on the Basketball court. Oh yeah, I could TOTALLY see Spider-Man doing that to a criminal.

So I want the character who plays Peter Parker to pull off both aspects of nerd and mischief. Maguire's nerd + Garfield's charisma. Not easy combination to balance, but that is what I want to see.

Well all I want is someone who can bulk up and put some muscle and have a nice bulk tone body. Vs someone who is just real slim and skinny who couldn't increase mass size at all.

If Dylan was the pick. Ideally it be better it revealed some time this week. Before the show. Then they could have the cast and Robert do something at the show and get some nice press out if it. Its doubtful they use the actual show to do reveal. Since its MTV show and these awards shows are so time sensitive and all that.

So your primary concern is how the character looks? Fair enough but bear in mind in all Spider-Man movies Spider-Man appears for a very limited amount of time.
