yes, he is the greatest player in the game of Basketball... doesn't make him not an ass...

Debatable that he's the greatest...Great scoring guard easily though.

Jordan has ALWAYS been an *******. He's a compulsive gambler, a bully, an egomaniac, and as I keep saying he's overhyped. People act like he was the only player on those Bulls teams and didn't play with another first ballot Hall of Famer in Scottie Pippen. The year Jordan retired the Bulls only lost 2 more regular season games than they did when he played the previous year.

And then they struggled their butts off the following season. By the way, Jordan didn't forget Pippen's contribution. Pippen was the first person he brought up during his Hall of Fame speech, and unlike some of the other people he talked about, he showed a lot of affection/appreciation for Pippen.

Part of why that team struggled was because they lost Grant, Paxon, and Cartwright. Horace Grant was their second scoring option at the time and a great defender.

I never said Jordan never acknowledged Pippen, i'm saying FANS and other Sports writers act as if he played by himself on those teams. Nobody can win a championship on their own, it ALWAYS takes two Superstar players. Scottie was just such a great player and I hate when nutty Jordan fans try downplay how good Pip was in order to make Jordan's legend seem more grand.

Exactly, which is why I started a Youtube channel in appreciation to the man not too long ago.

Pippen was great. Jordan said during some interviews for the Hall of Fame that it was a great feeling knowing that he had a hell of a ballplayer at his side who would always pick up the slack when Jordan was having an off-night or when he was out of the game. Hell of a defender too. His playing style was similar to Magic or LeBron, except without all the attention and pizazz heaped on him by the media. He could play pretty much every position on the court and was a great hybrid of size and skill.

One of the remarkable things about that Bulls squad is that they won without a dominant Center. And it's because they had a great all-around forward in Pippen and a great shooting guard in Jordan.

The quote that was posted makes it look like Bryon Russell was angry. Reading the whole article suggests it's all in good fun.

Since when has anyone ever said Jordan won all those championships by himself? I think the misinformed basketball fans read into things too deeply. Perhaps the informed and intelligent ones don't phrase their statements correctly either.

Obviously it takes a team to win a championship. But there is that one player who made it possible too. Michael Jordan had a strong will to win and his hunger rubbed off on everyone else. It's the same hunger that made the greats like Russell, West, Frazier, Barry, Bird, Cousy, Isiah, Magic, and etc so great. They wanted to win and losing to them was almost like someone ripped their guts out.

If Jordan hadn't been as strong, determined, and as great as he was I doubt the team would've flourished as it did.

While it's true he didn't do it himself, the fact that he put the team on his back during the worst or the closest of game cements his place in basketball history. How many players would practically be dead on their feet while battling the flu and still lead their team to victory?

If players today had the same drive and hunger Jordan had you'd see better games.

Jordan was still great in Washington. He took a team that won below 20 games to a playoff like team, even though they did not make it.

Jordan should of returned with Detroit Pistons who was title contenders at the time. Would of proably gotten another ring or two with them.

I mean I understand he was with the Wizards orginazation, but he obviously wanted to win more rings. So should of went to Detroit.

Yeah, I agree, I live in Michigan, so I am a big Piston fan, and would love Jordan on Detroit.

But I wet my pants if Jordan played with LA. Him and Kobe would just destroy the league, if Jordan would still be able to put up 20 points a game.

Remember when he came out of retirement and scored 44 points at the age of 44, on the Washington Wizards? At the home game, I believe it was. :wow:

I think he was 40, not 44. But yeah I don't understand how people can say he couldn't play when he was with the Wizards when he was still averaging over 20 points a game.

i was hoping this quote was from Bill Russell. I'd love to see that matchup in one on one lol

I thought it was from Bill too. And no Bill would die of heart attack if he played Jordan. Be like that NBA video game commercial.

''Hey Charles.ima take you to rhe hole....Charles said''I gotta go...sigh''.

What's funny is the double standard when it comes to certain players.

When Kobe says virtually the same thing he's considered to be confident, strong, and determined.

If Jordan says something he's being an arrogant prick. :whatever:

You've got that TOTALLY backwards. Kobe Bryant has been one of the most hated figures in sports. MJ typically gets passes on stuff like this, while Kobe gets bashed for it unmercifully by some sports writers. Jordan is by far one of the most protected athletes of all time.

Kobe Bryant is/was hated for good reason. Despite having success early in his career with HOF coaches to learn from it took him a long time to grow up and stop acting like a self-absorbed jackass that was concerned about nothing but his own legacy.

There's some truth to that. He's grown up though. He's not As bad anymore lol
