So in the latest issue of FF it turns out Scott Lang
murdered some guy who came at him in prison. He enjoyed it as well which is kind of creepy.

i imagine that he was probably in a pretty bad state; being recently divorced and separated from his daughter. we also don't know why that guy was trying to shank him. i'd compare it to Lee Tergesen's character from the HBO series "OZ." sometimes even a good guy can snap.

Is Rudd the forerunner for Pym or just for the main role (who could be Scott Lang)?

All the trades suggest he is Pym, but are they just going with an assumption made by one of the sites? How do we know that Pym is the main role? Isn't Lang really the protagonist of the story since it's "To Steal an Ant-Man"?

that's what i thought. but they wouldn't be talking about casting his girlfriend, if that were the case. :shrugs:

to be honest, i think he'd fit either role. but i don't see Rudd as being physical enough to be the teaser footage guy.

I thought Pym and Lang are both the leads. The film revolves around those two characters.
They are supposed to team up at some point in the film.

I know Feige said that Edgar has a specific arc for Pym in Ant-Man which partly why he hasn't featured in any other Marvel films or TV shows.

I hope that if Scott Lang does appear (which seems likely) that Cassie pops up in the film as well.

The whole motivation behind the "To Steal an Ant-Man" story is Cassie.

True, but Marvel is doing Ultron without Pym, so I wouldn't put anything past them. I kind of hope that Cassie and Scott reappear in future movies, perhaps even as a father/daughter superhero team, that could be fun to see.

As much as it is blasphemy to say, I would prefer they either use an older Cassie or no Cassie at all. Kid actors derail the films they are in most of the time.

There are good child actors and bad child actors just like there are good adult actors and bad actors. As long as they cast a good child actress they will be fine.

if she's given as much face time as she was in the book, i wouldn't worry too much about it. she's bedridden for most of it.

Edgar Wright Ant-Man comments from his latest interviews with Cultbox and the Mirror online.

Edgar Wright talked with CultBox last week and hinted at Marvel comics that may have influenced the script he co-wrote with Joe Cornish.
“I had two issues as a kid, one of them was a reprint of ‘Tales to Astonish 27’ featuring ‘The Man in the Ant-Hill’” said Wright. “So I had a copy of that, and then later I had ‘Marvel Premiere 47’ which was the first appearance of Scott Lang. So it was funny that I had both those issues, and I particularly thought ‘The Man in the Ant-Hill’ was something extremely odd and cool and it almost had a horror movie feel to it.”

“...What’s kind of good about the Marvel Comics is that usually the characters are a lot more grounded,” the filmmaker added. “They have real world problems and that’s become part of the screenplay. You always end up anchoring it in someway that appeals to you, even in the craziest sort of comic book sci-fi aspects of it. You’ve got to keep it grounded in the characters and the relationships that mean something outside of the Marvel Universe.”
When asked if Ant-Man will have the sense of fun and personal feel that his films all have, but ties into the Marvel scale:
“I think the Marvel films that really work are about characters,” he said. “The first Iron Man is almost like a character study of Tony Stark. It's as much a film about him than it is a big action epic. The ones that're really successful are really good on character, about grounding the heroes as well.... [I'm] very happy with where [Ant-Man] is right now.”

just once i would like him to confirm that, both, Hank Pym and Scott Lang are in it. i know that he probably sees it as spoiling the plot. but it's one of the things i'm most interested about.

unfortunately, i'm unable to access it. does he say anything important?

He's asked if Scott and Cassie will be in the movie, or if it'll just be Hank, and he just says "yes" without specifying to which characters.

wow. that was a poorly worded question.

thanks

Wasn't there rumblings that we might know in regards to the cast by the end of the year?

Yes, it was teased, by Kevin Feige I believe, that'd we'd probably hear some Hank Pym casting news by the end of the year. As for other characters, I don't know.

Rashida Jones is in the news again. this would be the perfect time to sign her for the Janet Van Dyne role!
