thanks evil!
there is some speculation that he might be dave cannon - whirlwind, might be just a random character though
Hmm, some of the other prisoners in that short were actual Marvel villains. One of the Chessmen was there, and IIRC one of the cells held someone connected to the death of Frank Castle's family.

Marvel doesn't tend to announce who every actor is playing. So we will still probably be guessing who half these actors will be playing by the time the movie comes out.

I think they'll announce who Lilly is playing though. Maybe Pena and Wilson.

Perhaps Paul Rudd's Scott Lang was be in Seagate prison with White Power Dave or was his old criminal partner.

more likely, he's the guy that convinces Scott that being a criminal isn't good for his health. it's probably not a good idea to have the protagonist be good friends with White Power Dave. on another note, I had guessed (last night) that he was going to be playing some kind of inmate. I wasn't aware that he showed up in Hail to the King (I hope to see that eventually). and I was thinking that it would have been really cool to work AoS' Centipede organization into the Ant-Man movie. Whirlwind could easily be the product of their experiments on humans; like with Scorch. it'd be easier than making him a mutant.

I think Wilson is Darren Cross, with Gerald and Stoll playing henchmen. Who could conceivably be some obscure villains like Whirlwind.

If that's the case, then they need one more actor to play a Young Pym.

Or they'll use some CGI wizardry on Douglas

I don't see the actor for young Pym being much of a "name" actor. If they do go in that direction, and not the digital de-aging approach.

That's the reason why I don't think Wilson is it.

Douglas was de-aged quite a bit when he played Liberace.

Im betting that Matt Gerald is playing Whirlwind since he played White Power Dave in All Hail the King and that Whrilwind's real name is David Cannon, there is a chance that his character in Ant Man could be the same one from the one shot that he may take on the hero as Whirlwind

Gotta be.

They'll need at least two villains. One for Pym in the flashbacks and one for Lang in the present.

There are rumors that Michael Pena could play Castillo in both past and present.

I've got two ways to connect the film to the MCU if they go that route:

Make Pym a SHIELD Agent in the 1960's. Age the Commandos and Stark 20 years but the Commandos still kick ass as they did when they were with Cap.

him being Dave Cannon wouldn't surprise me. but I wouldn't get your hopes up on him being Whirlwind; at least in this movie. the Hail to the King guy didn't have powers. and Wright already said that he wasn't introducing any superpowered characters; wanting to focus on introducing Pym particles. if anything, I bet that he makes the two appearances as a prison inmate and eventually becomes a Hydra test subject (Avengers 3); along w/ some other prisoners.

my prediction is that Castillo is the flashback villain. he'll be the guy that murders Pym's wife; when he's simply a member of the secret police of whatever communist country they use. flashforward to the present and he's the leader of the country. this would give Pym a personal reason to get involved. I haven't quite figured out Scott Lang's connection to it. maybe Castillo has agents in the U.S.; at least one of them in the prison where Lang is completing his sentence. one of them, on Castillo's behalf, press Scott into stealing Pym's invention.

...or one of Castillo's criminal enterprises involves organ harvesting or human trafficking. they kidnap Erica Sondheim to assist in this enterprise. Scott gets involved (like he does in the books) by accident; searching for someone to save Cassie. so Scott needs to free Sondheim. and Pym gives him a way to do it; while avenging his wife.

Was Dave Cannon a racist in the comics?

no. but that's probably because he's a mutant. but he was enough of a scumbag that also being a racist wouldn't be out-of-character. I figure he's White Power Dave because there are only so many gangs to enter in prison for bald white guys. :woot:

they'd probably use a name actor if he were expected to appear elsewhere; like the Peggy Carter tv series. it's not like Patrick Wilson is busy with anything, at the moment.

I think they'll use William Cross aka Crossfire instead of his cousin Darren. remember that Wright cited the cartoon as part of his "homework." Darren only appeared in the comic. William Cross might be a little more action-friendly since he's a rogue CIA Agent instead a mutated businessman. I could see Stoll being Crossfire and in league with Michael Pena's corrupt political leader. Gerald is extra muscle. that's just my personal guess though.

Do you guys think the credits scene for GOTG will have something to do with Ant-Man?

Paul Rudd
Michael Douglas
Evangeline Lilly
Michael Pena
Patrick Wilson
Corey Stoll
Matt Gerald

I wonder if casting is done? That seems like enough for a principal cast for this type of movie.

I think one of the Avengers after credit scenes might have something to do with Ant-Man.

I'm not sure how you could a tie after credit scene for GoTG to Ant-Man unless the heist in Ant-Man is also for a Infinity stone/gem.

White Power Dave might just be a original character and not Whirlwind.

I think Clifton Collins Jr and Michael Pena were up for the same role.

I also think Rashida Jones and Bryce Dallas Howard were up for Evangeline Lilly's role.

There are more names that haven't leaked yet or actors still in talks probably.

I imagine Cassie Lang is in the movie so they still have the young actress playing that role to announce.

Kevin stated we may or may not be even getting a post-credit tease for Guardians. I mean I would love if we got a scene where somehow they mention something regarding earth or even something to do with Thanos.
