My question is WHY?!?! The whole idea that Peter gets bit by the spider while basically on a "mission" to investigate shady sh** involving his parents and OSCORP is just overdoing it to me. It kind of betrays the simplicity of Peter's origin, and furthermore overshadows some of its more vital elements. 'Cause as it stands, the movie we're being sold right now is "Peter Parker, suspicious of his parents death, seeks the truth, and by a freak accident, gains the power to properly avenge them. By comparison, Uncle Ben's just some old dude he lives with!"

In their defense, this is the second origin film in 10 years....they had to shake it up. It doesn't betray the original origin, but does change it.

I'm SURE Uncle Ben will play a pivotal role in this film, or Martin Sheen wouldn't have taken the role.... We already got the Uncle Ben centric origin in Rami's films, and it was done very well.... What we never saw was the story of Richard and Mary Parker....

I'm all for this new take, so long as they keep the story true to the idea of the comics.

I love the fact that Oscorp seems to play a prominent role in the story. Even if Norman isn't in the film, his presence will hopefully be felt. Like he's pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Why is it absolutely imperative that they show that in the trailer?

I actually believe Van Atter replaces Osborm as a one of Oscorp's chairmen, who is particularly responsible for scientific projects, while Norman is the major stockholder handling business affairs, yet, secretly having his own interest in the developments of Atter's department.

Not to mention the fact that no one has considered that this might not be the trailer we see with CA:TFA. There are 3 very different trailers, and Poin_Boy's description of the one he saw, was extremely different from this one, however he still mentioned some aspects about it that couldn't have been mentioned with guessing games.

And if the "great power/great responsibility" quote did make it into this trailer, the same people complaning about it missing would be screamng "HEY THAT WAS IN THE FIRST TRAILER FOR RAIMI'S FILMS!"

It's not just that. It's a matter of establishing the father/son connection between Peter and Ben. If you're going to have a trailer that's as long as this one is, and make a point to establish that connection, it should be between Peter Ben. Don't change that.

Also, why are people failing to see THAT WE NEED AN ORIGIN!

1. To make clear that this is a re-telling of the Spider-Man story

One of the problems I have with this film is that it IS a retelling of the Spider-Man story.

2. To display how Peter came up with the webshooters and synthetic webbing.

Which is not nearly as important as some fans make it out to be.

looks okay. gotta reserve judgement until we get a good quality version. if the pov shot has amazing cgi, then it's badass. if the cgi is meh, then it's awful.

Same here. Also you should go to the Cap movie in 3D. I think that POV in 3D is going to be AMAZING.

I was never really judging the CGI in that part. Mainly, what I was speculating was whether or not the POV shots should be used more often. And I think they shouldn't.

To be honest, I still think Poni_Boy was BSing. He promised a poster. Didn't happen. He promised the Lizard. Didn't happen. He promised a lot of stuff involving Spider-man. We've got only the POV scene, which he previously denied and now claims to actially see. He claimed it to have rock music. Nope, nothing like that. There is indeed a possibility hecould watch the CCon footage, but highly doubtful since why would he be the one to watch it before the whole panel? Just because he works for a web site? C'mon! To me it seems like his words are to be left ignored, at least for some time.

It was cool I agree. But the CGI needs fixing up. Perhaps the HD trailer will proove otherwise.
