The Amazing Spider-Man The Official ASM Teaser Trailer Thread! - Part 3

It was cool I agree. But the CGI needs fixing up. Perhaps the HD trailer will proove otherwise.

It´s an early teaser, so I´m sure it will get better. Even so, CGI has been criticized since the first teaser for the first movie, and I still got a big time kick out of Raimi´s movies (mostly the first two anyway), so it shouldn´t prevent my enjoyment of this.

Okay, aside all the CGI nitpicking and all the usual, tired and boring fanboy crap, tell me that, during that POV shot, wasn´t there a great moment of feeling like a kid again, like you COULD be Spider-Man, like picturing yourself doing all those awesome vertiginous moves... If you didn´t, the whole petty comic book guy thing has finally killed you inside.

I have to say I loved it when he stretched out his arm and shot the web. Reminds me of the Spider-man dreams I occasionally had. :woot:

I def felt like a kid again.

That feeling's hopefully going to be even more defined with higher quality, and then eventually being able to watch it in 3D. Like some others have said, as long as it's used in moderation it can be a cool touch to the experience.

I hope people don't get a nasty shock when they see the POV shot in high def - I gaurantee you it'll look more like a videogame when you can see it all that clearly. That's not a criticsm because high def is brutal on special effects (watch Lord of the rings on a big screen blu ray and you'll know) but some people saying the CGI will look more realistic with a decent quality trailer may be in for a surprise.

Maybe they're testing the waters for a spider-man video game with the gameplay of mirrors edge

44 people here, not even half of those that were on TDKR thread last week

It was cool, but seeing Spidey swing is more fun, IMO. Definitely more fun.

Ditto. I don't really mind Spidey's POV for just one scene, but I still want to see him swing, and I assume we'll get enough of it, judging by numerous set pics with stunts

It wouldn't make sence if they made this POV the 100% of the fight scennes

This thing about poor “cam quality” during the POV shot is trivial imo. And IMO, I think that shot was purposely done that way, to add “texture” to the film. Look at the whole teaser… it does not look like your typical comic book film. It look more like the “feel good story of the year.” A story about growing adolescence and self discovery... in a Midwest steel mill town. I think that is what Webb meant, when he said, this will have a more “gritty tone” to it. There are much more to learn about this film; but thus far, I like this fresh take of a comic book superhero. Tone, maturity, and a reasonable sense of realism is just as important to me, as the quality of the story. And although I’m still somewhat skeptical; I am beginning to get a good feeling about this reboot.

Here’s hoping.

Saw the teaser in a very low quality.
When the POV scene started, i thought it was Mirror´s Edge, the movie
And...yeah.....the suit is ugly as sin, i just hope he updates the suit during the movie

All I need is the original costume pattern. Meaning no strange segmented gloves, a belt around the waste and no lines on his legs. Otherwise, I love the material and texture.

I cant wait to see it. Someone said awhile back that SM 1,2,3 were missing things and i agree. I love all three of those movies but this looks more acurate and more realistic. Granted its just a trailer and a teaser at that so i will try not to over hype it but the same problem goes for every1 who ever has posted bashing a film based on a trailer. I hope this does truly well. I like the direction they are going and from what ive heard it will be loaded with humor but more grounded humor than say the last 3.

Kinda odd, but the teaser's tone actually reminded me of Ordinary People, which was written by Alvin Sargent, the script doctor of Raimi's films. Specifically, parents' theme and Peter in teenage years.

The humor in Raimi's Movie was kinda weird. It was mostly supporting characters saying or doing something funny, while Peter made stupid faces. And when Peter did something, it was mostly stupid or embarrassing. Like the entirety of SM3.

I think the POV might just be for the trailer. Many movies shoot cool scenes just for trailers. Think Hulk wich as far as im concerned was one of the coolest teasers ever. Spider-mans original twin tower teaser too. Star Treks teaser. the list goes on and on. Dont get me wrong i hope its in the movie but im not so sure if it will be

Or shoving half a hot dog in his mouth with the biggest cheese eating grin.

That's a pathetic complaint. seriously. I usually just rub off peoples complaints about Raimi's films because it's their opinion, but that's just stupid. Though, I've heard plenty of other stupid complaints as well.

Nobody should be complaining about the cgi this early.

Just had the opportunity to watch the trailer on-line. It was pretty good. I like the idea of knowing something about his parents. Whether it follows the comic who knows? But I did not like the POV bit at the end. It honestly reminded me of the Nicholas Hammond Spider-Man TV series where they did exactly the same thing.

Don't believe me? Then just watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_tutjqzFAI
