I can't believe that people are now gauging quality and their excitement level over the difference in tone and look as compared to Raimi's trilogy. That is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard. How does that make a movie good? A youtube video with a fat kid playing Spidey would be different than Raimi's films.

I like the tone the trailer is giving. Much more serious than the Raimi films. As long as spidey throws out a few one liners and puns, i'll be a happy chappy.

I just hope to god that Stone and Garfield have on screen chemistry and well written dialogue than Maguire and Dunst.

But man, hurry with the HD version of the trailer.

Comparing Marc Webb's Spider-man to Raimi's is idiotic. We need a different tone for Spidey and this seems fine for me. I'm excited for a "new spin" on the franchise.

I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt the VUltress idea was Raimi's. Apparently, Sony thought Vulture was a boring Villain that oculdn't be marketed well. If they would have let Sam use him, we probably would have had a S-M4 and it probably would have been amazing.

But instead, we'll get ASM which probably will be amazing

I really want to see an HD version of the trailer so I can make things out better.

Raimi's movies felt like comic book movies. The teasers feels like a drama. Also people who bring up twilight are talking rubbish, in what shape or form is this movie like twilight? Okay I'm not sure I like the POV but everything up to that final shot IMHO was perfect.

I know what you mean about the POV shot, but I think that was made for the trailer only (only guessing btw). Just to give the audience of being spidey. And that final shot of spidey swinging to the reflective window was VERY nice IMO.

Ehh, Black Cat was never thought up for S-M 4, was it? I thought it was just going to be Felicia Hardy and then Sony wanted her to become Vulturess after Spidey killed Vulture.

Also the time when they wanted to 4 and 5 back-to-back and I had thought Raimi wanted to save Black Cat for film number five, that's why Hathaway was only rumored to just be "Felicia Hardy" as that time, which turned into "Felicia Toomes".

I must say seeing spidey wall crawl was awsome. I loved seeing it in the others but it didnt happen to often he would get to the top of most building by bungie cording himself to the top.

I hate to say it but that doesnt mean anything. Sony may have made some bad choices but they do try to put out quality movies to say any studio doesnt try is so absurd. Since marvel started making movies and they have seen how succesfull those have been they will be trying even harder to keep up with the bar thats been set.

Some are, certainly. But in that case we all know that the movie has been rushed (Sony was about to lose their Spidey right for unused). You can't say that it's always the case, particulary in summer. When they make Transformers 3, Wolverine or Pirates 4... they don't want to make good movies...

Marvel Studios at least try, they have good directors, good actors, writers... they fail sometimes (IM2 for exemple, wich is not bad, just not SO good). And yes, I want all marvel licences to go back to Marvel Studio. I want to see Thor flying behind spidey as he used to in the '60 comics With "Amazing" Spider-Man, Sony keep the licence for at least 5 years (can't remember if it's 5 or 7). They will ruins the hero, that when it come back to Marvel, it can't be used again for a long time.

I think people need to realize that this is a teaser trailer. And no matter what, the CGI still needs to be finished and reworked, the scenes are still being editted...this movie comes out in SUMMER 2012 for God's sake!!! For what it is, it looks great compared to TDKR's teaser. Waaaaay more fottage.

Oh and btw, I don't really get all the complaints about the POV. I thought it looked great and felt like an epic last scene for the trailer. I feel confident that they'll polish the CGI more. I don't think POV will be overused in the film at all. I imagine it's either only for the trailer, or it's the "final swing" of this reboot.
