I am looking forward to this even though I am not thrilled about it being the origin story again. But I do find it funny how fast everyone around here turned on Sam Rami and his take on the Spidey. I remember back in 2002 and 2004 everyone was singing his praises and saying how good the films were. Then comes 2007 and Spider Man 3 is met with medicore reviews and fan feedback. In actuality, the film wasn't THAT bad compared to other terrible superhero movies that have come out like X- Men origins Wolverine, the borefest superman returns, and the god awful green lantern.

But anyway when spider man 3 came out everyone was like Rami is a hack, he sucks etc. It suddenly became cool to hate on him and his spidey films. I fear the same will happen to Chris Nolan if The Dark Knight Rises doesn't live up to fanboys high expectations. There are some genuine fans but a large majority of people are bandwagon fans. Back on topic I do think this will end up being a great movie. I am interested in seeing how the lizard is handled and how they handle the origin story.

I completely agree with everything you said.

I loved S-M3, tbh. My absoloute favorite Comic Book Movie is S-M2 with S-M1 coming in at a close second. Hell, I love all of them equally. Still the best superhero trilogy ever, IMO. :spidey:

SM3 gets a lot more crap than it deserves, in my opinion. Yes, the retcon was stupid, and, yes, it's not as good as its predecessors, but it's nowhere near as bad as movies like Green Lantern.

I loved the whole trilogy tbh. I know a lot of people hate S-M3 but I still think it's a great movie and enjoyable to watch. I'll admit, as I got older I did notice a lot more faults in the movie but still, overall I still like it. S-M2 is my favorite.

That's what I said waayy back in 2007 when Spider Man 3 hit theaters. Sure, it wasn't as good as the first two (heck in most movie franchises the third movie is never as good as the first two) but it was still entertaining. Emo Peter and his dance moves were kinda cringe worthy and casting Topher Grace as Eddie Brock/ Venom was a bad move. Other than that it the movie was okay not terrible by any means IMO.

Agreed, except I liked Topher Grace as Eddie Brock. That said, I didn't like seeing his face so often when he was Venom.

Hopefully Webb won't keep taking Spidey's mask off during major fights like in the previous movies. That really irritated me.

Thank you! I certainly hope to! This seems like the best place to go for all my Spidey needs! :woot:

And just so we know, I'm a fan of the Raimi series, and I'm more than excited about TASM! I'm one of those guys who read the comics 1-200 or so, not too many but I at least have a good idea of how I picture Spiderman. I'm also one of those guys who will be first in line to the theater Thursday, July 2nd for the release! :awesome:

Same here. I will be at the midnight screening for sure. And welcome to the Hype!

loving the open arms here! Thanks, everyone!

Hope to see you stick around Elijah!

Agreed. A lot of it was pretty bad but at the end of the day I'd rank it way above duds like the fantastic four movies or GL or ghost rider. Its got a rewatchable value to it, and some great action scenes and good character moments.

Agreed. There's a lot that's good in the film, but it's ultimately crushed under the weight of its own ambition.

^ A good way to put it.
And the dancing scene....I know some people actually kind of like it but I couldn't stand it.

I can hardly get through SM3 myself... Nothing seems to click. But I will say that there are way worse out there.
