Plus no one cares what Avi Arad wants to see. Why should he have that power? Just be a producer and make sure they don't make Peter Parker a rapist serial killer. Don't be on set every day facking with Sam Raimi or Marc Webb. Whata d-bag that guy.

:funny::up:

I watched the making of SM3 and arad was making me angry with his venom talk. he was hands on with SM1 and I can 'kinda' understand that, new franchise, lot at stake, plus you have to tell the director what marvel expect. SM2 hands off and sam delivers one the best comic book movies ever so WHY be hands on for SM3. that makes NO SENSE.

totally. I hate him. he is too proactive with the film making process, if you hire a director that means you like his vision and if you like his vision then trust him to do a good job, if you don't trust him to do a good job then maybe you should direct the movie yourself.

him forcing venom on raimi so late into the script writing process was unforgiveable.

The fans who wanted Venom in the film are just as much to blame IMO.

It was clear Raimi had no love for the character (which is perfectly fine, he had his vision and it worked) but fans still relentlessly lobbied for the character's inclusion ever since Spider-Man 2 was released.

I honestly don't think Raimi was forced do anything. I really think he relented on Venom because he wanted to do what was right by the fandom but it didn't work out, unfortunately.

My honest opnion on why this reboot is being made. So they can build up toward venom. Lets face it. Venom is what people waited for and by bringing petes parents into the picture they might just want to include edddie brock in aswell.

Just seeing him up there ramble about who Spider-Man is and how he feels about the character...we already know Avi...shutup and let the actors talk. No one cares what you think. No one cares that you helped coordinate the stunts. That shouldn't be your job anyways.

sam have stuck to his guns. it patently obvious sam has 60's sensibilities and thus chose silver age villians and they worked beautifully but venom is definately a modern villian with modern sensibilites. venom seems a perfect fit for this new webb universe.

look at TDKR, you haven't got WB trying to force penquin or riddler onto nolan even though those villians are much more recognised then bane.

I hate venom (one note) but I loved the ultimate spider-man take on the character and origin. I wouldn't mind seeing that on the big screen. AFTER mysterio.

Why do I feel like I'm the only person who actually likes Avi Arad?

Lol you aren't man. I got no problem with him either. He's made some creative decisions I disagree with but he's also made some I do agree with..just like any other studio exec. I don't know him to have any hate or vitriol for the guy

We'll, WB has their own set of issues in regards to mismanaging their DC properties but that's neither here nor there.

In regards to the Raimi/Venom issue, the fans are just as responsible. I guarantee you if we had gotten Vulture over Venom in Spider-Man 3, fans would have *****ed about it non-stop.

When it was announced we were getting Vulture in Spider-Man 4, fans weren't exactly supportive over the director's choice of the villain then either.

That's why its best in some cases for a studio to do what they feel works and what is right instead of always listening to fans. There are a lot of Spidey fans my age clamoring for Carnage in a movie and I pray they never get their wish lol..it's all about what fits in the world you created and Venom could've worked but didn't

That's the thing though. They were insistant on using 3 villains rather than 2 which would have worked just as well.

fans don't know what the heck they like, they are fickle and with shut up soon enough if the movie is good. how many fans didn't want to see joker as we'd already seen a version of joker. I definately didn't want joker again.

:woot: Exactly..fans are fickle and as batman says, a cowardly and superstitious lot. Hate change and while some creative ideas are good, a lot of them are better left for fan fiction

Agreed.

^lol If we can go about 8 months without any new news, we can hang in there for one more month! :D

At least we now have an estimated timeframe of when the trailer is supposed to be released.

Agreed, lol.
