So the epilogue or "4th part" of Battle for the Cowl finally got released, focusing on Bruce's death, Richard, Damian & Alfred accepting Bruce Wayne's death.
The issue begins with Bruce Wayne as Batman preparing for his nightly duty, until suddenly someone attacks the Batcave! Batman is surprised by Robin who laughingly jokes how he startled him and "got him" as Batman had asked him to do in Gotham city to be speficic, which Richard quickly smirks that he would have been prepared for it.
We cut back to the aftermath of Battle for the Cowl #3 where Batmobile is seen taking down thugs with traps and whatnot, capturing small thugs but noone is seeing the Batman, as it is Richard as Nightwing still driving the batmobile hiding his face to keep people believe "its the Batman inside" while Alfred and he discuss how they can't hide anymore. Damian Wayne ofcurse smirks how only
the Batman should be riding the car, and he is the true heritage of the mantle. He actually leaves the Batcave to go on solo hunt for criminals, oh boy.
We cut back to another flashback this happening 4 weeks ago, where Tim Drake, Alfred and Richard are greeted by Superman and Wonderwoman, who bears the cowl with him, telling them about how even tho Bruce always had a 10 back-up plans for
everything it seems the only backup plan Bruce had this time was death. I'm not going to discuss much about this part but i'll just leave this scan (Not taken by me, so don't even bother requesting, buy your comics people :P)
here.
Damian almost gets radiated by doctor Prospherus if it wasn't for Nightwing coming to save his sorry butt. :P Overall the issue is basicly Nightwing telling the Justice League how the public can never know Batman is dead, because the fear he brought upon the criminal world should remain there, and that there will always be a Batman. This is where Nightwing and Alfred decide, he can never be a Batman like Bruce Wayne, and thus they leave Wayne Manor and move onto Gotham Central where their Batcave is beneath the parking carages.
Issue ends with the New Batman stopping Scarecrow from spreading his crime on Gotham and thus Batman is reborn to the public eye.
Overall it was a good issue that IMO should have been released 1 week ago before "Batman and Robin" but it doesn't bother me that much, the Batman comic issue btw is basicly Batman solo run (no Damian or so) fightning againts Two-Face, Penquin and Black Mask's thugs for starters.
